It would've been a nice touch. It's not a groundbreaking show, but it's got a couple of nice songs. And would be nice to hear Caroline Sheen and Natalie McQueen belting them out! Dunno if part of the problem was that it ended up not being massively clear if Sheen or Louise should be on the CD..... One of the esemble put on their stories the day it was announced a pic of the Sheen and the rest of cast- claiming how happy they were about doing a recording! Sheen was the original Violet- would be a cheek if they swapped her for Louise IMO.

Playing devil's advocate: The musical fans will all want Sheen. The GBP (where most of the revenue lies) will want Louise. And then it all ends up too much trouble for everyone lol....

Stupid question (maybe) - is it possible to enter the theatre as far as the merchandise stand without a ticket? I can't remember if they already check your ticket when you enter the theatre itself (before descending the staircase) or if it's just a bag check at this stage? When I went in summer I forgot that I had meant to buy one of the "cup of ambition" mugs and now that I broke my favourite coffee mug at home (boo) I'd quite like to get one but I'm not paying insane amounts of postage to have it shipped to Germany.

You could have it shipped to the uk and someone that owes you big time could send it over to you? 😊

That someone could also hand it over in person in June the latest But I still hope I can just nip into the theatre and buy it next week.

-sigh- okay. I'll see if I can work my charm on whoever is at the door. Hi!
This happened to me with some Funny Girl merchandise. I spoke with the box office and they allowed me to pop into the theatre before a Saturday matinee and they had the merchandise that I wanted to buy waiting for me. Great service. The person who was working the merchandise stall came up to the box office and I paid them.
Hope this helps.

I did this on Broadway once for Hedwig. I explained to security and they let me go in and told me to report back once I was done. No idea if they would have searched for me if I didn’t. I did not risk it. ^^ I think if you ask nicely you won’t have a problem in London!

I’ve done this many times (though never at Savoy) to buy merch. Always gone early (usually when doors open as normally on way to another show). Never had a problem!

Looks like the cast recording is coming before Christmas! This would be fab news. But I’ll believe it when I see it. Twitter account clearly run by the work experience kid!

Not sure but this may be against the general flow.
Found this contrite, painful and never really rescued itself from the sexist scenes in the first half. Didnt care about any of the characters.
On the plus side choreography was excellent and there were some genuinely good moments

Aren’t Caroline, Natalie and Bonnie all supposed to be leaving on the 11th of next month? And we’ve heard absolutely nothing about replacements.

I think some tour transfers could be likely seeing as the 2019 tour was so short. Georgina as Doralee, Sean as Hart, Lucinda as Roz. If Caroline is leaving too I imagine Louise would be back for a stint.

Sean is currently already back in the show in the original role he played of Tinsworthy and Cover Franklin. Also; the Twitter account confirmed that the next cast change is 8th Feb.

Cast recording almost definitely out digitally tomorrow (no idea if that means at midnight or in the morning).
(Sources: VERY OBVIOUS clues/hints on the show’s social media)

At last - great news! So they went with Caroline Sheen instead of Louise in the end....
Must have been recorded very early on so heaven knows why it took a year to release it!
Do hope a CD will follow.....

They missed a trick not releasing the cast recording at 4:51. Just got it! That nearly went over my head lol. Anyway, just listened. Is a great recording! Really nice to have. Good atmosphere doing it live, without the audience noises being intrusive. And no coughing thank God (Kinky Boots take note). Reminds me I must see the show again before it closes - just a great fun evening. Does anyone think it will transfer? Or indeed return to the Savoy post SITPWG? Dunno how it's selling currently. Though I imagine it's business model works well with groups and discounting etc; can't be that expensive to run. Anyway, we shall see I guess!

Deffo! I am totally a physical music geek when it comes to musicals. Lovely CD packaging and inlay with cast, band, lyrics, a note from producers and a few pics :-) What's not too love!!

Is it just me, or does the cast recording not sound hugely thin?!
I mean, I'm not a fan of Live recordings anyway, but it just doesn't sound that good...

I think it's pretty good :-) Not quite up there with the Les Mis and Miss Saigon live ones; but very clear and full I think. Do wonder if Louise is annoyed as she was technically original cast but of course was injured. Probably doesn't care but who knows. No doubt Sheen is stronger vocally, but I do feel a little bit for Louise.
