Some of the tweets at Joe Sugg fans btw are so unbelievably patronising, telling them they’re welcome as long as they learn theatre etiquette 🙄 Probably from the very people who are at stage door before and after the show every other day and really need to learn some etiquette themselves! The Producers are more worried about how many people buy tickets than who is at the Stage Door. Imagine if CHF got cast in this and you had her fans against Joe's fans or one of the girls from Six joined the cast. You'd have braces being removed ready for combat.

Peter Hannah (Earl) leaves on 7th September as well as Blake Harrison. Wonder if anyone else is moving on too - think they were all on six-month contracts which run out that particular weekend.

David Hunter and Nicole Raquel Dennis had tweeted about having 3 weeks or 24 shows but deleted them, so I think they may be departing then too.

I'll be so sad if David is leaving because I love him as Dr Pommater and I can't get back to see the show before the 7th!

The only thing that bothered me slightly with David Hunter was his accent, his real accent was always poking through. I don't know if it's better now because i only saw it early in it's run.

Didn’t he stay for like 2 years in Kinky Boots, so he obviously seems like someone who’s happy to stay long term for steady work.

Even though I think the patronising tweets at Joe Sugg fans about theatre etiquette are too much, seems like there’s already issues with Colleen being in Waitress in Broadway, and lots of comments from people saying how disrespectful some fans (not all obviously) have been by leaving the theatre before he end (even some before Everything Changes!) to rush to stage door, and that they’re taking vids and pics mid show. Seen a tweet from one of the ensemble also kindly asking the fans to not get their phones out until curtain call because they can all see it.

I wonder if they will start going for celeb casting with their Dr Pomatters? They have at times on Broadway. Maybe someone like Matt Cardle would fit the bill. He is free now after dropping out of Falsettos.

Got decent Today Tix for this today for £25. Lucie Jones is sublime in this isn’t she? Kat was great but this was next level excellence. The show is still a bit ropey. Act One nice. Act Two gut punch. A bit sparse for a Saturday matinee but I suppose it is a bank holiday.
NB When we picked the tix up at 2pm the cast board was showing full cast, but when Olivia Moore & Charlotte Riby appeared as Dawn & Becky that clearly wasn’t the case. But we know how much they value their cast! 🤦♂️

It may have been about five to two, when we picked the tickets up but no earlier, and Laura & Marisha were both listed. As long as the u/s were credited later on is fine. They were both excellent so deserved recognising is all.

To be fair it looks like the castboard was having a little bit of a rough time today...

Managed to get Rush tickets for last night, great seats in row B of the stalls so no complaints from me there.
I think the best way I can sum the show up is nice, to me it would have worked better in a slightly more intimate setting than the Adelphi and I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much paying normal Saturday evening prices.
Charlotte Riby was on as Becky and Olivia Moore was on as Dawn, both brilliant and their chemistry with the rest of the cast and Lucie was great! Talking of Lucie, she has an absolutely stunning voice and the way she controls it is just beautiful. For me she lacked a little bit of the heart of Jenna at times but her version of She Used to be Mine pulled that back around.
David Hunter and Blake Harrison know how to milk those roles for all there worth and both have the audience rooting for them the whole way, regardless of their quirks and goofiness. Blake for me is the perfect casting for Ogie and I heard numerous people at the interval shocked by his ability to sing as well.
Like I said at the start the show is good, I just didn’t find it great. One of the big issues I think for me was the way Earl is portrayed. He’s shown almost as a panto villain rather than a dealer of domestic abuse and control so Jenna’s plight doesn’t really have the impact it should.
I unfortunately won’t be rushing back to see this and for a Saturday night, there were quite a few sporadic, empty seats in the stalls which isn’t a great sign. For me it’s in the wrong theatre and is a little bit too fluffy for a show which deals with some adult issues but tries to hide it behind the words ‘musical comedy’.

I’ve come for a return visit tonight. Just had an announcement- the show is delayed due to technical difficulties!

I was also there tonight - no idea what the technical difficulty was as the show was only delayed by 10 mins and then ran completely smoothly!
I was mostly there to see Lucie (but partly also to see Blake) and she was sensational. I'm a fan of hers anyway but after tonight no-one can deny that she deserves her place as a leading lady of the West End. Her voice is gorgeous, both in soprano and belt, and her control and technique is exemplary. I connected with her Jenna much more then I did with KMP's portrayal (which was nonetheless excellent) and also thought she brought out more of the comedy while still delivering the emotional heft. Great to see Laura back, and Marisha's diction was much improved compared to my previous visit, which was my only qualm with her back then. Blake was very good too - perhaps not quite as natural with the comedy as Jack MacBrayer, but leagues ahead vocally.
As long as Lucie is in that role I suspect I won't need much of an excuse to return.

Nicole Dennis is also leaving the show. Sad to see the OGs go! I thought Peter was a strong Earl, if maybe a little too intense. Nicole is great so it’s sad to see her leaving the same day too ☹️

Well thank god Marisha and David aren’t leaving, the fake rumours on twitter were starting to worry me! Sad to see Nicole go because she was off both times I’ve seen the show but I’m hopeful that she’ll be Effie in the Dreamgirls tour if it goes ahead.

I saw Waitress this afternoon and it was fantastic. some ticket info: Got my ticket through the trusty TodayTix and sat in Row F Dress circle, amazing view the two rows in front of me were very empty! Shame as its such a great show with Lucie Jones in it. One of the best performances I have seen in London. She added the depth and character that was needed which Kat didnt bring so I had a few tears in my eyes many times. Gave lot of emotion to the role and her singing was very strong. My friends had a last minute decision to see it so I was already in the theatre when they called me and asked me to ask the box office what was available. Nothing was discounted 30 mins before curtain up but he gave me £34 upper circle front row (Dynamic Pricing) and they got it and I went up to see what the view was like and it was perfect you dont have to lean forwards that much and if your seat is on the "curve" you dont have to lean forwards at all. This is seat 10 I believe. Upper circle was full but the starting price of the circle and stalls is £44, they should discount it last minute to fill the theatre a bit but it meant that I had a very un obstructive view! This show does deserve a place in the west end and I hope it stays for longer than a year

I saw the show yesterday after 3 months of absence and unfortunately, (in my opinion of course) it has slightly lost what made it special with the original cast. Blake had a great voice but (for the record I was really against Jack McBrayer's casting because of his inability to sing) he lacks that amazing comedic timing Jack had. I didn't feel any chemistry between Lucie and David at all, other than them being really good friends, and I think it is quite unprofessional of her to break character and laugh in quite a few moments - apparently she's been doing it in many shows, especially during the "in the dark dark chocolate pie" line. I hope the new people coming on Monday will bring a new energy to the show and I'm still excited to see the understudies that I haven't seen yet.

Yes breaking character frequently is unprofessional. When it’s genuine it can be the funnniest thing ever. Sadly I think some actors think they’re so gifted we (who they think they’re much better than) won’t know.
I won’t go into my problems with David Hunter.

Does anyone know if this will be extending? Was wondering this also, the previous extension was quite a short one. If the Adelphi doesn’t have another show lined up yet I can see it continuing to extend for short periods until something else is ready to move in. January/Feb we will have the annual “New Year Sale” which whilst discounted, gives shows a big opportunity to shift large volumes of tickets. I guess we will hear in the next few weeks either way.

It seems to be selling better lately, there seems to be less random offers around anyway! I think it definitely had a summer holidays boost like most shows and Joe Sugg’s going to bring in some sales so I could see it chugging along a bit longer.
