NO! Thrilled - love a royal engagement story, love a love story, just love love love.
William & Kate I got up early and watched the whole thing on telly while wearing various hats (yes I did). And then I went over to my local park and watched the flypast skim over my head (I'm near RAF Hendon/Hendon Air Museum).
Dusting off my hats.

My favourite bit about the last Royal Wedding was the lady in front of me in a newsagent who had no idea there was a bank holiday and also no idea why there was a bank holiday. Pretty good going to miss it entirely.

Wonderful stuff! It makes such a change to read something nice in the news!

I'm not exactly the staunchest of royalists, but I am a sucker for pageantry. And, y'know, nice news stories as a brief respite from the doom and gloom of the every day.
I'd still like a bank holiday though...

Oh how lovely. I'll have to get a new hat.
Will we have to start calling her Rachel now one wonders?

The tabloids must be torn. It's a royal story and they can't get enough of those, but she's an immigrant and they think we have far too many of those.

I reckon we’re not going to get a bank holiday out of this one - they’ll probably have the wedding on a Saturday instead.
Still, nice news is always welcome!

Well it's nice to have a story that's cheerful isn't it? Also Harry will look nice in a suit/uniform, and I'm sure she'll have a lovely frock.
If we could also get a day off out of it that'd be grand too.

Harry must be the most patriotic prince of all time. Just when we could all do with a bit of a 'do' amid the political gloom he brings it, sorry, her, home.

...poor girl. Can she know what she's letting herself in for?
Seems a nice lad, but I wouldn't wish that position on anyone.

LAD? He's 33. Old enough to be a grandparent.

Best thing about a Royal Wedding? I get to break out the old line: "When the news was announced, the Queen sent a telegram, and Prince Phillip sent a diagram." Nice for them both, and a day off would suit me fine. Wow, So it isn't just Jacob Rees Mogg that still sends telegrams?

Exactly the opposite for us. We were in Malta and went to a bar to watch it. The young girl who served us, knew more about the Royal Family than we did and was absolutely enthralled.

I'm not sure we'll get one as I'm sure when Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson we didn't have one. :-(

I feel in the minority, but I still love the younger generation of the Royal Family. Kate and Will are a beautiful couple who do alot of good and he will make a fabulous King. These two are equally beautiful. I'm happy for them.

No we didn't. I fear that we may not for Harry either, he's probably not deemed senior enough to warrant a day off. He's fifth (soon to be sixth) in line to the throne.

As predicted, no bank holiday. Apparently we only get them for likely future monarchs.

These two are equally beautiful. I'm happy for them. I don't think you are in the minority, to be honest. Most people seem to like the younger Royals - especially if you're old enough to remember the arse-ache their parents were creating for everyone at the same age! I know the tabloids like to complain about them, but I swear it's because they fail to provide salacious copy the way the previous generation did. The most they can be accused of is enjoying the odd night out, having a few too many holidays, and the odd poor choice in fancy-dress costumes. Edit: Good lord but the Gruan is wetting themselves over Megan Markle's racial heritage. Anyone would think it was some kind of revolution, instead of a relationship!

They're likely to become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex apparently. Unless Harry turns the Dukedom down of course . . .

And you know at her age (36? 37?), within 6 months of the wedding there will be the announcement of tiny feet.

The UK's productivity gap is already widening, without additional public holidays helping to tip us finally over the edge. The latest theory is that workers aren't fully engaged because they're simultaneously attending to social media...

Just watched the interview on the telly. Well, two grown ups and she is brilliant with the media, as expected and as required. So well done, Harry my boy. I wish them a long, happy life together.

Stafford is in need of a duke apparently.
Just saw the interview on Sky News. She comes over very well and is beautiful. He proposed while they were roasting a chicken apparently.
