Will they do the offer for theatre vouchers again? Here’s hoping! Could someone remind me, was the offer launched off the back of the TV broadcast of this show last year?

I thought it was, but a quick Google shows that the first batch of vouchers were released in late March last year.
The concert aired January last year so there may still be a lottery voucher scheme yet

Thinking about it, I have a feeling there was a much longer gap last year between the show taking place and being broadcast, so that’d make sense - hopefully they’ll align announcing the promotion with the TV show. Thankful to this thread for reminding me as it was a great chance to save a few pounds on my theatre-going bill last year!

Alfie Boe and Jason Manford just on BBC breakfast talking about tonight. Charlie (newsreader) kept asking Jason if he could sing and Jason making a joke about it at first then when Charlie kept saying that he didn't know he could sing Jason came back with a wonderful reply "I've been hiding behind an album and several musicals". Do your research BBC as that was just embarrassing.

Appreciate what it's done to push musicals into the mainstream but I could go my whole life without hearing the Greatest Showman again.

Nicole's appearance is completely pointless lol
'can you believe Ive never done broadway' 🙄😂
Agree about the opening.
Other than that it's been really good so far. Although why can they never find a Jamie who can sing well.

Looks like Hadestown may have worked
3 minute queue (400+ people waiting) to get on site to get tickets

I love that TV shows like this are a brilliant advert for shows we all enjoy. Opening up theatre to whole new audiences hopefully!

Damn, was sceptical seeing Hamilton in the line-up - feels like we're by the zeitgeist now IMO - but that was a flawless performance. Kudos!
Loved that Hadestown performance too. Love me some Jamie but shame about the vocals. High energy cast though!
Not Nicole randomly shuffling on for two minutes doing her 'Austin Butler trapped speaking as Elvis 5ever' impression of Norma. 💀

Daniel Boys has stolen the show so far.
Didn't like the new musical arrangement for One or the choreography.
Hadestown making its "west end debut" isn't the NT classed as west end?
Really enjoying the show so far.

Normalising waving your phone about, singing, etc. during songs. Depressing!

Normalising waving your phone about, singing, etc. during songs. Depressing! The divide between excitable theatre kids having fun at a concert versus those deadpanning like they took a wrong turn and wound up here by mistake is hilarious. Oh. Right. Mrs Doubtfire exists. DAE man in dress funny?

This is a great celebration of Theatre. For this to be on Saturday night primetime BBC, it's wonderful.

Cedric's constant ad libbing was fun in person but seeing it with a static staging like this, I'm just...over it.

I've not seen it in the theatre but I wasn't sold based on that performance I don't blame you to be honest. In the heat of the moment surrounded by a buzzed crowd, you kind of get swept up in it. But between this and the album, yeah, it's...a lot. Summer dreams ain't the only thing ripped at the seams based on this production.

Grease coming across well, although it's always an upbeat crowd pleaser anyway
