Well all over now and I hope Sheridan is really proud. She seems in such a good place now. Every show sold out, massive box office advance and I don't think she missed a single show. She seemed really humbled at the end of each performance from the audience reaction and the fans waiting at stage door. I believe she is now off to Greece for real to film a drama.
I'm so pleased for her.

I think Sheridan will be back in the West End sooner than we think. I bet the likes of the National or the Almeida would love to have her do a show as she's a proven draw.

How ironic that she’s now off to Greece! Wonder if she’ll be asking for a table by the water in the evenings? 😀

So well deserved. I saw this back at the beginning of March and it was great - the perfect fit of actress to material. Loved it. There’s something about Sheridan that makes her so instantly relatable to her audience.

The show has been completely sold out which means it's been a profitable endeavour for all involved.

Saw the last matinee. I enjoyed Sheridan Smith's performance a lot. However, as I was sitting in row R, I was struggling to listen to what she was saying at certain points in Act 1. Wasn't there any microphone anywhere in the stage? The Duke of York's theatre a bigger theatre than, say, The Ambassador's where Maureen Lipman's voice could be heard perfectly well and some kind of acoustic enhancement might have helped. In 2:22 I think the actors are even wearing some discreet mics even though the play is not a musical. A detail I appreciated: in the second act Shirley Valentine drank an authentic Greek brand of orangeade! I wasn't able to read the label on the wine bottle though. That one also seemed to be Greek. Finally, I didn't like the Greek song they chose as exit music--this is a matter of preference of course, but also I'd rather they had chosen a song from the '80s, this one was released in 2017.
(PS. Even thought the show was sold out there were about 10 empty seats around me. Perhaps people couldn't make it due to the train strike).

I'm so pleased for her. She was very pampered though chauffeur driven there and back,90 mins on stage! If she had needed to get her own way there she would have missed loads! And why would she do that? All major actors have a driver to take them to the theatre and back again. I'm sorry if I offend but what a very silly statement to make.

To be fair she's a star and David Pugh is an old school producer who looks after his talent.

Also, she did used to use public transport but she was mugged during the run of Flare Path so I’m not surprised she’s decided to have a car to and from the show.
