Any Emmerdale fans will probably agree that Sally as Faith has been one of the best parts of the show over the last few years and her terminal cancer storyline is being absolutely beautifully acted. It’s going to be a huge shame when she does leave but I just hope she’s leaving the show to go back to musical theatre! I didn’t even know she’d done stage & musicals until I looked her up because most of her stuff was before my time so just wanted to see if anyone has any memories/stories of seeing her on stage and if anyone has any roles they’d like to see her in in the future. Some Sondheim possibly?

I saw her as Nancy in Oliver! at the Palladium in the mid 90's and she was wonderful. Prior to that I only knew her from Touch of Frost so it was a revelation that she could sing like that! I adore her. She was INCREDIBLE as the White Witch at Kensington Gardens a few years ago, and she was also one of the best things about Viva Forever. She was a fantastic Nancy on the Oliver soundtrack from the Palladium production as well.

I met her at a preview event for Bad Girls The Musical in which she played Yvonne Atkins. She was delightful, I was there on my own and she beckoned me over afterwards to chat with her and some of the cast. She was really kind and she has such a fab voice. Hope she's returning to theatre sooner rather than later.

I had no idea she had been in musicals. I remember her well from the NT in the 1980s Peter Hall era when she appeared in quite a few plays. She was also at the RSC in the 1990s. I think the last time I saw her was as Gertrude in the sensational Michael Sheen Hamlet at the Young Vic about a decade ago.

Sally was also a fabulous Mrs Wilkinson in Billy Elliot the Musical in the west end. Probably my favourite Mrs Wilkinson across the years!

She was wonderful as Anna in the original production of Patrick Marber's Closer, and by far the best Nancy in Oliver that I've ever seen. Hopefully she'll find some rewarding theatre work after her years in soapland.

She was great as Mother Superior in Sister Act. Didn’t get long enough in the role.

Well I’ve had her version of As Long As He Needs Me on repeat for days now, that’s how you sell a ballad!
I bet she was perfect as Mrs Wilkinson as well, and I only wish she could have been our Mother Superior for the Sister Act tour this go around, would have been a nice Dingle reunion with Sandra Marvin!

She was the BEST Nancy in Oliver! You could ever hope to see. Incredible.
She needs to return to theatre, I don’t know why she isn’t one of our greatest leading actresses right now. She has the ability.
