Died aged 82. Famous as one of The Comedians of course but he did quite a lot of acting work too. I remember him in the Barry Hines/Ken Loach film "Kes" and their TV plays "The Price of Coal". Played Fool in the Northern Broadsides "King Lear" too it seems - I missed that.

Brother of Lynne Perrie, who played Mrs Casper, Billy's mum, in Kes. I don't imagine either of them ever had any kind of formal training.
She's probably the more famous of the two, but he had more separate acting roles, despite being better known as a comedian.
