I'm curious, does the puppetry here resemble that from the West End production? I find it a bit off-putting here. But to be fair this performance, at an awards night, may not accurately reflect the finalised Dutch production.

Not that I remember! I don't remember a big fly or fish puppet. Instead, they were done incredibly subtly and beautifully in the West End production. There was puppetry but it was a puppet of child Amélie, which was actually really nicely done and beautiful. Based on this performance also not too keen on the Dutch production. And is it just me or does that wig on Amélie look very fake? In the West End production they just went with however the actress looked and then they assumed the audience would be smart enough to catch on that that was Amélie, although she didn't necessarily look like the film version. I liked that approach a lot

Yes, I debated whether to say anything but that wig is not good - I feel bad for the actor! I guess there's a chance that the wig, and the puppetry, are going to be refined before this production opens next month.

In fairness to the Dutch production, this performance of 'Half Asleep' comes across much better in my opinion.
