Hi all and Happy New Year!
I was wondering if anyone has any recent experience ordering from DC? My order moved to "dispatched" a week ago, but hasn't yet arrived despite payment for the UPS service to be used. I've sent emails but no reply, and the phone number goes to a "answerphone is full" message.
Thanks Paul

How interesting Paul.
I too have recently tried to make contact re: a query and my email too also was not responded to and when I phoned it also went to an answering machine.

My order was dispatched on 5 January (supposedly) but hasn't arrived here in Germany yet - I wonder if it got entangled with Brexit and new customs rules. If they had several orders from abroad, maybe they're dealing with a lot of madness right now on top of Corona madness.

Maybe they've temporarily closed because of Tier 4 restrictions?

Just wondering if these items eventually arrived?

Mine arrived in Germany last Friday, so ten days between dispatch and arrival. It came complete with a green "customs checked" sticker now...

Has anyone else had issues ordering from Dress Circle recently?
I pre-ordered 4 albums back in June. Three are now showing in stock and the other as coming soon, even though other retailers seem to have it in stock.
I have had no updates on my order. No replies to emails. Tried phoning but it just rings out.

I had issues ordering a poster frame which I hoped would arrive for Christmas but didn't. I found an alternate email address in the end and that prompted them. It's a shame as their poster frames are excellent quality.

Is this a recent problem? I had issues with their online shop even a few years back; no response and I ended up having to chargeback / open a PayPal claim.

Unfortunately zsazsa this sounds like a similar experience I had when ordering some posters.
From memory they sent what was in stock, so therefore it appeared that had missed one item. As there was no notification or update this is a natural assumption. Then weeks later (it had obviously come in stack by then) they sent it.
I have also had situations where I had ordered several copies of the same poster and they failed to sent the right quantity.
It's both frustrating and disappointing because they have some pretty good stuff and they tap int that one thing that we all love- live theatre.
Additionally, they don't seem to care.
When they had the store in Covent Garden I used to frequent it regularly, sometimes just to browse. On the weekend there'd always be tourists- usually American.
(Genuinely) I don't care if the staff were gay, or not. What I care about is their customer service and their variety of stock. One day you'd go in and they couldn't bend over backwards enough to help you and on other days they would just downright ignore you.
Maybe all of the above were some contributing factors to the shops ultimate demise?

I had problems a few months ago. CD supposedly in stock but didn't come. No reply to my frequent emails. I found out from other sources that it couldn't be in stock as release delayed. Eventually it came. I won't be ordering from them again. Like anthony40 I was a regular at their shop. Pity.

Well I ordered a poster off the Dress Circle website a month ago. An auto response came back as 'processing'. Asked for an update a week ago. No response. It seems they are running a ramshackle operation where even communicating is beyond them. Best avoided.

I had an email from them in the last few days quoting the "Titanic " DVD as at £11.99 but when you click on it it says it's a lot dearer. I left my order with Amazon.com.

I didn’t know they are still operating. Many years ago I used to enjoy browsing in their shop, but must confess I found the staff to be rather condescending and a bit rude. Their attitude didn’t make me, as a customer feel welcome or willing to make purchases.

I always found Dress Circle like the equivalent retail experience of your most aloof and snotty box office assistant.

You had to be a young pretty twink and preferably on the stage to get any attention.

I used to torture them, particularly John, looking for posters and they started off a bit aloof but I wore them down over time! I do miss them!
