Dame Shirley is releasing one last album next month. A video from the title track' I owe it all to you 'has just been put out together with a advert for the album.
What a career the Dame has had. Is it too much to hope that she will do one last concert?

Dame Shirley is currently number 3 in the mid week charts. It could be her highest charting album for 40 years!!
Kylie is number 1 , just over 2000 ahead of little mix!! If Kylie is number 1 on Friday she will be the only female solo artist to have a number 1 album in 5 consecutive decades!

Just listening to it whist working from home today. Makes typing up minutes a lot more enjoyable.
Can't believe the quality of her voice for an 83 year old.
I've only seen her perform live once which was at the RAH and her support was The New Seekers, so gives you an idea of how long ago it was. It was advertised as Shirley's retirement concert!
She obviously changed her mind.

Dame Shirley B opening the BAFTA's tonight singing Diamonds Are Forever. 85 years old and can still belt them out like that. Pure class.

She sounded amazing. That voice at 85!
Also saw Chita Rivera at Cadogan Hall about 3 years ago and her voice was also amazing. She is now 89.
Very few out there can still belt out a number like these two.

She is incredibly blessed to have kept her voice at that level, into her mid 80's.
(we all know there are many, especially female singers, who have sadly lost a lot of what they had and are somewhat younger than Shirley)
She can still cheat the ravages of time - amazing! |
