They all worked fine on the Sunday though some were a bit hard to hear (the bells at Southwark Cathedral seemed to play for hours at a completely random time like 3.38 but I have no idea when their services are). Good turn outs - some screens had larger crowds that others including a *huge* one round the Tempest, I suppose because it was first, or last depending on which way you came. I though Peter Capaldi's Titus was a highlight - wonder if he has any plans to do some Shakespeare post-Who

I have very little idea what was going on in the Titus one, as we appear to have been there at a very train-heavy time. Some of the locations could have been slightly better considered...

I saw the first ten or so (bar one which wasn't working) then gave up and went home because I was tired and cold! I'm sure they will end up on the Globe Player - like someone else mentioned they probably didn't want to mention anything before the weekend but their responses on Facebook to people who asked about it were along the lines of, "Keep an eye on our social media updates" - I'm sure if there were no plans to put the films online they would have just said so.
Of the films I saw, the highlight was Romeo and Juliet - Jessie Buckley was wonderful. R&J isn't my favourite play but I'd certainly book to see it if she was in it.

London Theatre posted Richard II on YT, if anyone is interested. Personally loved James Norton's take on the king - never seen him pictured like this.. so human.

I thought the Complete Walk was terrific, but I feel bad for anyone who could only go on Saturday. The technical issues must have put a real dampener on things. I would be very surprised, considering the effort gone to ("hey famous actor, can we fly you to a far-away country to do a few lines of Shakespeare?"), if they didn't rock up on the Globe Player. I think it was sheer stubbornness that kept me going on saturday, I decided I was doing them all and was darned if I wasn't going to keep re-visiting previously downed screens in the hope that they were fixed, but if you didn't have the time to do that or the cold was too much must have been frustrating. I had extra layers with me as I knew i'd be out late for something else so they all went on by about half ten morning but it was grim the cold. It seems to be going abroad after this and as it seems a lot to do just as a one off i'm hopeful they'll turn up somewhere. |

As someone said previously I do think they overreached slightly. I started on Saturday (12-4pm) before giving up because I was getting very upset about the failing screens. Approximately 12 out 25 weren't working and there were zero efforts to fix them going on.
Sunday was a lot better, less crowds and all screens on. Finished the rest between 3 and 8.
My absolute favourite was Cymbeline. I really wish they would put that on stage now (with Hayley Atwell). I do think so that they sometimes chose strange excerpts with minor characters. E.g. the porter in Macbeth, shepherds in As you like it and Hippolyta in Midsummer Night's Dream.
I do hope they put them up online, I would like to rewatch several without noise and on a good screen.

The Globe is now merrily tweeting that you can see some of the films but it's the same odd half a dozen which have been on iplayer since the event so they're a little late to the party telling everyone now (yes I get not everyone will have found them if they are not wise enough to hang out here).
