Saw this at todays matinee, not much of a Rattigan fan but thought this excellent. Nancy Carroll superb in a good ensemble. Billington was there.

Enjoying this. Most of the supporting cast perform well. Nancy Carroll is a natural actress and she and Gerald Kyd work off each other beautifully. Definitely the best moments of the production
Then Hadley Fraser came on and it’s was like night and day for me unfortunately. Sure he plays the un- self aware, drinking, swaggering English cad but good god he over acts at times. I’ve seen more subtlety in previous Freddie’s and even the guy who plays Jackie would have been more convincing in my view. I cringed watching Fraser play drunk

I was also there last night. It's one of my favourite plays and Nancy Carroll can do no wrong so I thought this was great. She was mesmerising, lots of lovely moments- the anger she put into rolling up that blanket! Matthew Cottle was a revelation, thought he was superb and also the portrayal of Mrs. Elton was very thoughtful, didn't tip over into caricature as sometimes happens. Agree Gerald Key was excellent but I also liked Hadley Fraser - although I've never seen a Freddie on stage whom I'd leave my husband for (Hiddlestone in the film is a different matter of course).
