Just the most increidble cast. Seriously though, Laurie's name is already etched on that Tony, it"s pretty much a guarantee, this is perfect casting for her. 😍

I'm seriously considering making the trip across the Atlantic to see it; if I do, then it'll *definitely* transfer to London because that's just what happens when I fly to New York to see shows. It is a heavily British cast...

Let us not forget, in her centennial year, the woman who created the role of Martha, on Broadway in 1962 and in London in 1964: the great Uta Hagen (1919-2004). She was blacklisted during the McCarthy era and so didn't make movies until late in her career, and is therefore not a household name. She was one of the great acting teachers of all time. Brits who studied with her include Anthony Hopkins and Prunella Scales. Indeed, the new Nicholas Wright play this summer at Chichester "8 Hotels" is about the tour of that Othello. Ive booked already. Casting will be v interesting.

I hash tickets for this next month, which had obviously already gone, but still hoped that I would get a chance sometime. The word of mouth was overwhelmingly positive.
Theatre is an artform of the moment; one of the tragedies of this crisis is how many wonderful moments will be missed and lost forever.

I'm just choosing to believe this will be mounted during another season, perhaps 2021-2022. It was too good to not get an entire run. I know talk is of a Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf Death of a Salesman next year, but perhaps this will come back first.
