If you are talking about American Idol contestants, Jennifer Hudson has obviously done Dreamgirls and she was amazing in it. I'd say she has been the most succesful Idol contestant.
Adam Lambert, Katharine McPhee, Constantine Maroulis and Fantasia Barrino have all been in musicals (and Kat has done some TV).
