With the eighth season (Apocalypse) due to air next month, and lots of news updates in the last two weeks, it might be nice to see who else is a fan of the franchise. Plenty of faces have been announced as joining the cast for the crossover season of Murder House and Coven, including Joan Collins and Billy Porter. Returning as their witchy counterparts are Gibourey Sidibe as Queenie, Emma Roberts as Madison, Lily Rabe as Misty, Taissa Farmiga as Zoe, Frances Conroy as Myrtle and Stevie Nicks as the white witch! Jessica Lange has also been confirmed as returning to the fold after three seasons away, playing her Murder House character Constance Langdon. Evan Peters and Kathy Bates return as new characters, as well as more recent cast members Billy Eichner and Adina Porter. I’m thrilled as Coven was my favourite season so far, and am currently reliving it to remind me of all the details. Will anyone else be watching?

Coven was my favourite too. Also loved Hotel. In fact the only season I hated was Cult (followed closely by Freak Show but that was still miles better than Cult). Overall it's a great show. I love seeing the recurring actors in completely new roles each year. Great news that Jessica Lange is coming back (although unfortunately only for a single episode).

Didn't really enjoy Coven tbh, so I don't know how I feel about this crossover thing.
Asylum is still my favorite season.

I liked Cult but I think you needed a close knowledge of US politics to get all the allusions and references. Coven was the one season that I got frustrated by, some things just seemed like fan service to me. Asylum or Roanoke were the ones that I responded to the most but one of the strengths of the show is that you know it’s going to be different next season in any case.

I have to give credit to Murder House as well, that was the only season to actually scare me I think. Another reason the show as a whole clicks with me is because it writes exceptionally strong characters for women (and of varying ages as well) which you don't always see these days

All of the main characters are powerful females and most of the males are inferior/subservient in comparison. Not that that’s a quality I particularly enjoy in fiction but it’s just a refreshing change from the norm.

I really like Roanoke! I think they did the docu style very well, had me on edge the entire time.

I haven't enjoyed AHS since the end of Asylum but I stuck it out until the end of Roanoke anyway 😂 May very well give this a go as although I though Coven was a bit meandering, the characters were interesting. Thank god (my fave reoccurring cast member) Evan Peters is in a new role though. Kyle did him no favours whatsoever.

Really excited for this - FOX have confirmed a UK premiere date of Thursday 27 September (two weeks after the US).
I've loved all of the seasons, but the first time it was broadcast I gave up on Coven after a few episodes - when a friend convinced me to give it another go I loved it. I think the change of pace put me off initially, but it's worth sticking with - particularly given it's becoming more pivotal to the whole AHS 'universe'.

The 9th season has already been planned. It’s about Trump winning a second term in the White House.

Funny for me to see this thread bumped as I've just started watching this for the first time on Netflix. Finished Murder House a couple of days ago - I really, really enjoyed it. Fab story line, great plots & twists and personally I found it pretty scary at times, too. I'm about 4 or so episodes into Asylum now and loving that, too. I know you don't have to watch it in order but friends said that you get the most out of it if you do, and also most of my friends seem to enjoy Asylum the best too. And I'm also loving seeing the same actors in different roles mixing with new actors, too. It's kinda like television rep! Netflix only goes up to Roanoke at the moment so hoping Cult may be added soon as I'm getting through them pretty fast!

Just watched the first episode. I'll just say... WTF? How this is gonna turn into a MH/Coven crossover... NO. IDEA.
