Today the Really Useful Group rebranded to The Lloyd Webber Theatre Company or 'Lloyd Webber Theatres' this includes new smart black uniforms for all front of house staff, new logos on tickets and branding.

Lloyd Webber Theatres has a nice ring to it, it's good that ALW still wants to be in the theatre business, it wasn't that long ago he was prepared to sell them to Michael Grade and Michael Linnit

I personally never liked “Really Useful Theatres” - sounded like a tacky and cheaper brand in my opinion. Lloyd Webber Theatres sounds nice and upmarket, and I love the new smart black and white logo.

Wonder where t(he)y got the idea to use surnames for the company name... Doesn’t roll off the tongue or ring with the same prestige as ‘Delfont Macintosh Theatres’ but still helps define the venue branch of his work.

And ALW is a FAR more recognised acronoym for him, which he should have capitalised on.

I think he should have called it 'The Lord's Theatres' myself. More gravitas I feel.
And to be honest, I can never think of Delfont Mackintosh without saying "For you, Lord Delfont, it would be a pleasure and an honour".

I always rather liked the Really Useful name. It has an idiosyncratic feel to it: it's quirky, as opposed to the does-what-it-says-on-the-tin boringness of a company named after its founder or its line of business.

As I understand it Really Useful Group still exists, for Lord LW’s creative stuff, it’s Really Useful Theatres that has rebranded. Or have I misunderstood?

Same. I love it. It's intrinsically him. Instead it seems his advisors have persuaded him into a bland corporate identity.

I’ve seen pictures of the new theatre tickets, and they look a bit generic to me, e.g. the Ticketmaster and See tickets that seem to pop up at every West End venue. The old design looked like the ATG tickets but bigger, but these new ones are just plain, black and white. No frills.
I know the ticket isn’t really a significant part of the experience but I like more colourful designs as opposed to the standard stock ATG/DMT/LWT/See tickets everywhere.

I'd have thought it would be easier than ever to create themed tickets, given that modern printing technology allows short runs of stock to be printed far more cheaply than in the old days. But of course once you have a ticket you've already bought into the show, so the valuable space on the ticket can be used to promote something else.

I do miss proper "themed tickets" too. The original "Cats" and "Starlight Express" printed ones, the later "Cats" ticket stock from Ticketmaster with the glowing eyes. I know a few like Potter still have them, but it would be lovely if e-tickets, at least, had themed designs. Couldn't cost that much, could it, to insert a background on them? Seconded. Nederlander seem to be developing branded tickets for some of their shows, like Bat and Tina (Tina is a particular favourite as it’s also shiny!) DMT and ATG also seem to do it selectively with Hamilton, Aladdin, HPACC, Wicked, Lion King and Dreamgirls too. I always prefer the branded ones, as they feel more collectible and reflect the show itself.

Sadly, my wall is filled with standardised ATG tickets and Capital Theatre ones (Edinburgh) because I rarely get to London to see shows, because living up north means travel is expensive.
I do like the West End ATG ones though, such as Wicked's witch stripe, the yellow Lion King ones, the black Dreamgirls ones.
DMT do it for SOME (Hamilton and Aladdin) but all the others are their normal blue and white ones.
I think CFA will get its own design, as it seems like it will be a longer run compared to other shows at the Phoenix which were limited run (e.g. The Girls, Evita, Exorcist, Chicago)

I do wish all shows had branded/themed tickets though, at least the longer running shows, not only do they reflect the show itself but also they stand out when you quickly scan through all the tickets. When did Bat and Tina get themed tickets? I just had the standard default Nederlander tickets when I saw both shows, there's another excuse for a repeat visit to Tina especially.
