I've never been to the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith before and am meeting a friend in that area before going to see 'My Favorite Murder' on Saturday night. It's a long shot, but can anyone suggest a civilised meeting point within, say, a ten minute walk of the theatre?

The Lyric Hammersmith is a 5 minute walk away - cafe on the ground floor and a big bar (which also does food) on the first floor.

The Chancellors, Crisp Road, right opposite where the Riverside Studios used to be - see what a charmless building they’ve put in its place - remember old productions you saw there - wonder and doubt if the relaunch will be a success. Try and fail to name the TV celebrities in the old photos. 5-10 Minute Walk. If there early walk along the river a bit.

I don't live far from Hammersmith but am really not that familiar with it beyond the Lyric Hammersmith and the Broadway shopping centre- and am shocked that I didn't know about the changes to the Riverside Studios. This link doesn't make the new development look that appealing (unless you are keen on grey bunkers.) www.riversidestudios.co.uk/Thanks for the suggestions - really helpful.

To me it has all the hallmarks of the development they did on the old Mermaid theatre site which resulted in it closing forever after a sad few years in its “improved” home.

Oh gosh - the Mermaid. Hadn't thought of that in years. It's now 'an event space.'

Opposite the station District/Piccadilly is the Whetherspoons William Morris, easy to find. That’s where we had a graduation party and a mighty hangover.
Opposite the alyric is the best coffee place in the whole world........Caffe Nero.
