Saw it tonight. Fabulous. Warm and earthy and very honest. Tracie Bennett and Harriet Thorpe amongst those in the house and on their feet ovating at the end.

I wasn't as taken with it. I thought the first half was the weaker, the stories not quite as interesting, the songs not always a great choice for her distinctive voice.
It got much stronger after the interval as she spoke about her politics and illness, she seemed more energised somehow. Also the songs fitted her better.
It doesn't seem to be selling that well which is a shame as although it's uneven it's worth the trip. Then again I haven't seen any advertising for it since I got the announcement email from The Other Palace.

I enjoyed it - it was very sketchy about her film career (Body Heat, The Man With Two Brains and Romancing The Stone breezed over in a couple of minutes with no mention of Jewel Of The Nile, War Of The Roses or Roger Rabbit (there are probably plenty of other films I’m missing out on mentioning them) but I thought this was a thoroughly agreeable couple of hours spent in a theatre.
