Oh dear.
Can Boe do anything other than over-sing everything?
At least Ball understands the musical theatre genre properly - even if he does have some very bad habits.
Attempting to duet to 'You'll Be Back' was a painful mistake.

Their arranger needs shooting. As If We Never Said Goodbye shouldn't sound this bad - ever.

Now we get Jason Manford murdering On the Street Where You Live - who doesn't seem to know what accent he wants to use.
Why are musicals given so little respect on mainstream TV these days? One of the most popular artforms in the world - and it gets trashed like this.

Will someone please glue Boe's shoes down please? Seeing him attempt to bop around is worse than the dad dancing on Strictly

Watching on Plus One and my Mum has just texted "they should sing more instead of trying to be funny".
Can't really argue with that!

I like Michael Ball. I like Alfie Boe. Neither of them unreservedly, but I think they both have talent and I've enjoyed stuff they've done before.
This was awful. Way too much "banter". Too many fragments - here they are singing Wham, here they are singing Queen. The manufactured chat about "shall we do this, shall we do that" when we all know that everything is scripted in advance.
Don't know who is advising them but they really should find someone else... Sekonda should demand a refund.

Painful and embarrassing to watch. Hated the lack of respect shown to guests and the 'banter' was awful. They are not the next Eric and Ernie and should stick to just singing.

They've hit the financial jackpot with this Ball & Boe thing though haven't they? The new Robson & Jerome!! Top selling albums and arena tours. "....and the money keeps rolling in from every side!"

I like them both - I saw Alfie in Les Mis a couple of times here in London, really enjoyed his voice. Saw him in concert which was pretty good too I've seen Michael on stage, Hairspray, Woman in White and Chitty, but never in concert before until he did the tour with Alfie.
It's a good, well paced show, with excellent songs and orchestration. The interaction between the two was gentle and funny. Saw this at the Palladium, then took a friend to Brighton, this time last year. And the CD was excellent.
Saw them again in the Summer, same show, bit more cheese in the interaction between the two; Michael is so comfortable with an audience and comes across really likeable.
I watched the first two songs last night then switched over (to The Last Post with Jessie Buckley who is looking amazing!) ... I absolutely saw a Morcombe and Wise attempt between the two, the producers/whoever should be kicked soundly. I'll watch the rest of the show when I feel like some cheese with my wine .. haven't bought the latest CD, but am booked for the tour in December ...

The evening standard gave their new cd 2 stars & said they were playing safe. I'd give it one star & say boring.

Just watched the repeat of this. Truly awful. Toe curling attempts at humour and pathetic scripted badinage. I've seen them both separately live; Boe in his proper opera days was excellent in La Boheme at ENO and I loved Ball in Mack and Mabel a few years ago. Together their performances are either inappropriate for the style or just wearingly over the top. Boe is the worst - in this sort of stuff he has no light and shade in his voice, just belting it out indiscriminately.
