I was just looking at what they have on sale and it saddens me. You used to be able to get pretty much everything at half price. Now the majority of tickets are cheaper if get from the theatre.
What's its point anymore? Look at its counterpoint on Broadway and it pales in comparison
Back in my day I could afford to see a matinee and an evening performance once a school holidays from that ticketbooth. Now I couldn't afford a punch in the face

You can still get the odd bargain from there - I got a good cheap ticket for half a Sixpence the other week.

From recent experience you have to be on the ball to get the best deals as having monitored shows online prices do fluctuate

It all went downhill when they started allowing the shows to sell at full price. I bought showboat there for a good deal, and The Bodyguard, but can't remember anything much prior to that.

It all went downhill when they started allowing the shows to sell at full price. And then adding their fee so it actually became more expensive to buy from TKTS than the theatre direct for full price! Obsurd.

Oh also, don't rely on the website pricing. I know for a fact that every time I've walked past, "The Goat" has been on for half price, despite it being listed at zero discount on the website.

I think when they started selling at full price there wasn't a fee on top? I agree it is rather hit and miss and nowadays I find it better to do my homework and book ahead than wait and chance it.
