I loved this play and saw it twice at the Ambassadors Theatre.
We take our knowledge about the jet stream for granted, but realising that this was a whole new theory at the time was an eye-opener. The way the US forecaster worked was amazing too, because of how ridiculous his method was!
It was fun seeing the old style weather charts with circles and triangles on them too. Reminded me of the old BBC forecasts on tv when I was a kid!

I love Andrew Scott but he seems utterly wrong for this part. I'm guessing the film will be so heavily adapted that the idea of Andrew Scott playing David Haig's character won't seem absurd by the time it's released as it'll be unrecognisable from the play.

Haig was perfect in his own part as it were. Scott a brilliant actor of course.

Add in Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower. Don't know if he can do the Midwest accent. Don't know if Scott can do the Scottish accent that Haig was so fearful of doing himself. But, then, it's film, so they get multiple chances - including looping later.
