I loved the Mary Tyer Moore show when I was a teenager. Also the spin off Rhoda with Valarie Harper. Wasnt Betty White also associated with the show?

First saw her in The Dick Van Dyke Show which was essential viewing back in the 60s. (That and The Andy Williams Show) I think I remembered her smile more than anything else and of course the slickness of an American sitcom. She struck me as a very acomplished actress with really good comedic timing - of course back then I wouldn't have used those words to describe her. Another sad loss to that business which is show. In her case TV, theatre and film. May she rest in peace.

I LOVED that opening sequence. I remember being a very little kid being allowed to watch it in my pyjamas (this was the re-runs in the 90's bitches, not the original 70's airing ) and loving all her different outfits. Especially that winter coat with the fur trim. Oh yes! Even back then, all the signs! And i especially loved the lsst shot where she joyfully throws her crocheted beret into the air and that Mary Whitehouse in the gpheadscarf lookalike in the background throws daggers at her. Fab. RIP Mare.

Lol me too Alec.
It led to several spin offs too, Rhoda being my favourite.
