Lennie James and Sharon D. Clarke are astonishing, beautifully written and acted. This had passed me by but I really enjoyed the novel, so thanks for the heads-up - will watch at the weekend.

They've done a lovely adaptation of the book and all the characters come vividly to life. Strangely although it's about Barry coming to terms with his situation he probably makes less progress than those around him. I guess it's hard to adapt your ways in your seventies. Sharon D Clarke's towering performance made me far more sympathetic to his wife than I felt while reading it.

Towering performance from Lennie James, matched by the brilliant Sharon D. Clarke. Deserves all the BAFTAs come awards season.
