Summer is here in the city........finally
which I am seeing some great bar waters, for example the St James does a great one in a big water decanter with ice and watermelon.
The National do great water in the Lytterton, by which I mean it is dispensed by chilled tap.
Sure there must be some water out there?

The Royal Court had a plentiful supply on Saturday- some with ice and lemon, and some without.

The jug on the Del Mac theatres bar counter is always nice and cool, I find. I got banned from there after telling the barmaid she had nice jugs. |

The Park Theatre and Southwark Playhouse both provide jugs of water, though I'm not sure they run to ice and/or lemon. Shame though that so new a theatre as the Park is like an oven on a sunny day - never mind when it's hot, too - because the whole frontage is glass and there are lots of glass skylights, too.

I like the bottles at the RSC, with watery Shakespeare quotes printed on them. If they don't start selling them, then they're going to find a direct link between their bottles going missing and the size of the bag I take when I visit Stratford.

Whose been to that beautiful square in Florence (the one with the magnificent statue of Neptune with the huge, perfectly formed b...b...beard  ) where there are two drinking water fountains, and one of them actually spurts out sparkling water? I mean real fizzy, sparkling water, and icy cold too. And free! I didnt want to leave it, I just wanted to sit there slurping fizzy water and staring at Neptune's b...b...  |

I've been to Florence and wish I knew about that fountain, rather than sitting in those classic Italian piazzas, where you pay 10 euros for glass of ice with a hint of Coca Cola.
When I was in Rome I filled my water bottle all the time, which was handy as water is heavy to carry, also mainly the water comes from springs also and if you cannot drink it there are warnings, albeit in Italian, but non potable is quite easy to understand. However all fountains are non sparkling, if you want sparkling that would be 10 euros in some piazza.
