I mean why?
Totally pointless
Usually the arts funded venues
Embarrassing and cringe
The one for OV and The Constituent particularly bad
People are hardly going to be allowed to say a show is sh*t and make it into the final cut

Vox Pops are for marketing purposes, no more, no less.

They do seem a bit outdated. They usually just make nice little clips to insert between snippets of the show in the press videos.

Always so effusive too. I mean, half the time I come out thinking “ yeh, was alright” and that’s as big as it gets!

The ad’s for ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ prove the accuracy & worth of ‘crowd pouring out of the theatre’ vox pops. 😱

They do seem outdated from a marketing point of view. I'd rather see clips/highlight reels of the show to sell it to me.
But not as bad as the cringe 'interview with cast and creatives during rehearsals' videos.

Where do these vox pox cameras usually appear? I've always wanted to do one on the local news but never seem to be the area where they do them.

I’ve never liked them. I saw one recently for a theatre I go to regularly. Opened as they all do with someone raving about how amazing the show was. Thought I recognised the voice immediately, and then he appeared on screen. One of the volunteers. Not identified as such. He may well have thought it was amazing, but showing him like he’s just some random punter was rather bad IMHO.
