I am looking at Sweeney Todd, Kimberly Akimbo, &Juillet. I am also looking at Fat Ham.
Might do Parade as well.

Those mentioned are excellent. I’d add “Goodnight, Oscar” to the list for an incredible performance by Sean Hayes, “Some Like It Hot” (my favorite new musical this season) and if you missed it in London, “Prima Facie”.

I concur with mattnyc about the strength of your original list and adding Goodnight, Oscar. I'm less enamored with &Juliet than many, but it definitely is a crowd-pleaser. The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window is a strong production of a somewhat flawed play, but might still be worth considering. And the off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors continues to get strong audience response.

Good list. I’d definitely include Parade. Some Like it Hot and Shucked also worth considering.

Two best shows at the moment are Funny Girl and Sweeney Todd, absolute must see. I’d recommend Camelot as well, it’s a strong production of a great musical.

Just back from a week in New York. Parade was the best musical I saw but really enjoyed Sweeney Todd too, minus Annaleigh Ashford’s dreadful attempt at what I assume was supposed to be a cockney accent!

Parade is an emotive musical about people pretending that a man likes 13 year olds. MJ is a hit-packed musical that pretends the opposite.

I must say I completely disagree. Annaleigh was a highlight of my trip and her brilliant performance overshadowed Josh. The funniest Mrs Lovett ever.

Not knocking her vocal abilities or comic timing - both were great - but unfortunately it was the accent that was my abiding memory!

FWIW, have a friend visiting NY this week. She and her sister have gone to seven shows, including the premier of Back to the Future. The only disappointment she's expressed is over New York, New York. Said she wished they'd seen Goodnight Oscar instead. The shows I can remember them mentioning have included Some Like it Hot, Parade, Funny Girl, and Sweeney Todd.
