As much as it's my passion, I rarely cry at musicals- even my favourites.
Yes, I get very emotional- Sunday in the Park with George NEVER fails to get to me or The Bridges of Madison County- the choice that she had to make; and the fact that he waited for her- wow! but cry, no.
However Billy Elliott is the exception. Gets me and I openly weep! I mean big man sobs- ugly cry.
What makes my cry is the Academy Award winning Italian masterpiece Cinema Paradisio.
The other thing that makes me cry is crying women. I cannot contain myself. Whenever I try to console a crying woman- gets me every time.

I'll be here - Ordinary days. Currently directing a production of it and having gone over the meaning behind the song our actress also struggles to get the full way through it.

Saw it years ago with Daniel Boys and Julie Atherton. I saw that production. It was great! I then bought the Broadway cast recording.

The beginning of This is the Hour from Miss Saigon always gets to me. The most recent one that made me cry was Julian Ovenden's "This Nearly was Mine" due to a combination of such a powerful performance and the circumstances I found myself in that night.
