What is the best website to buy advance tickets for Broadway shows....and the best price/value?

For advance tickets usually just the official ticket provider. For example it’s Seat Geek for Funny Girl, Ticketmaster for Wicked, and Telecharge for Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway to name a few. Best to go to the official websites of the shows you’re wanting to book and follow the ticket links from there.
Also worth going on TheaterMania and BroadwayBox as they tend to have discount codes for the coming months.

Nederlander Venues - Ticketmaster
Shubert Venues - Telecharge
Jujamcyn Venues - Seatgeek
Unless its a very hot ticket though, it's not worth buying in advance, and you pay no fees at the box offices.

Seatgeek is a nightmare for foreigners though. They don't even give you a print at home ticket, they just insist on giving you a mobile ticket and then refuse to recognize non-US-numbers and I can't download the app from abroad either. Will have to see if I can download it once I'm in the US, but this insularity really annoys me. God beware that any filthy foreigners want to see shows in the land of the free...

Don’t buy using Broadway.com. It’s a ticket reseller and you’ll pay exorbitant fees.

For SeatGeek (which I detest using), if you can’t get a mobile ticket sent to you with your order, when you get to the city you can go to the box office and they’ll print them for you.

I work for a music venue owned by Live Nation, which also owns Ticketmaster and other theatres/concert venues around the world. I will tell you from staff experience NEVER use a third party reseller. I don't know how many people I've had to turn away who believed they bought tickets in good faith from a reseller, and they end up with something worthless and couldn't get refunded through that platform. I've often told those scammed to contact the company that issued their credit card and dispute the original ticket transaction since they didn't get what they paid for.
Third party sellers are the worst sort of touts in the US. They'll charge four figures for a show ticket that was originally $60 or $70, but was a hot ticket. Back in the day, face price for Phantom tickets was $40, but when Michael Crawford was in the role, the touts were asking for and getting $1200 per seat.
Yes - go to your venue and buy tickets directly from the theatre where the show is playing in person if at all possible, or phone the theatre if possible. The last theatre where I worked (hosting touring West End/B'way shows) had no service charge for people buying in person at the box office, but a 13pc fee for people buying over the phone and a hefty 18pc fee for people buying online. These days every penny saved helps, doesn't it?
BTW, there is a resale option on US Ticketmaster and Live Nation apps called Ticketmaster Verified or Live Nation Verified. Yes, the prices will be much higher because they're legit ticket buyers who decided they couldn't make the performance and are reselling for a sold out or nearly sold out performance - setting their own price and profiting in the bargain- BUT, it will be a corporate guaranteed legitimate ticket for the event rather than a worthless bootleg barcode or QR code.
