May I ask, whilst I appreciate the strike that was on, has principle filming all been completed now? Doesn't sound like it, yet. I believe they're not able to do any more filming in the UK, so they must be setting something up in the US but there's been nothing yet to confirm they've started up again. I don't know if JB's 4 days of him shooting with stand-in's has taken much off the remaining 10 days of filming which needs to be done. Even if they have to do it after Xmas, they'll still be fine to make their release date, surely.

I can’t remember the interview (I think it was a podcast) but Bowen Yang said he’s coming back to London to finish filming.

Certainly there will be a cast recording for the films but how do you think it would be released? An individual album for each film and then eventually release a complete recording of both films together? It was definitely be Wicked: Part One and then Wicked: Part Two, and once both films are out they’ll release Wicked: the Deluxe Edition. No doubt there’ll also be a tie in album with pop stars doing pop renditions of the songs from the movie.

Jonathan Bailey said on radio 2 this morning that he had to go back to it to finish filming so i guess they all have elements to finish.

Filming starts again in January, back at Sky/Elstree Studios. There are a few days of principle photography left to complete and then they have to try to get in any re-shoots they want. Before the strike they were wanting to shoot some of the outside Oz scenes again, but not sure if that is still an option, they might have to move them inside, if at all.

The official TikTok account for the movie has been created so I’d imagine the marketing machine is about to kick into gear. Wouldn’t be surprised if the trailer came during the Super Bowl.

Filming wrapped yesterday. All done, reshoots and all.
Ariana and Cynthia have some press stuff left to do in the next week or so, but the filming has all been completed.

'live vocals'
Oh no. I hope that doesn't mean all the live vocals are going into the finished product. Flashbacks to Les Miserables...

Can someone work out/explain the photos/videos in front of a curtain, or what looks like a theatre? Is it just for promo? Is it part of the film?

Kerry Ellis thanked Jon Chu on Instagram for ‘having us be part of this’. Sounds like their might be Les Mis style cameos from west end cast members.

The Elphaba/Glinda silhouette looks similar to the part when they enter the Wizard’s palace from the CC footage. However, I’d bet money that they’re doing photoshoots for marketing.

I got really excited for a second that Faye Dunaway was actually in this! Turns out it's Bowen Yang's insta name.

Does anyone know how the 2 films will be split comparing it to the stage show? You’ve got to end film 1 at the end of defying gravity, right?

Some info from someone who apparently worked on the film. They posted on BroadwayWorld.
There isn't a huge amount of difference from the stage to screen version. There are a few bits of back story, such as the film starting at Kiamo Ko in a flashback. Some scenes are added to fill in gaps, such as Elphaba, Glinda and Fiyero travelling from Shiz to Oz, on a huge Orient Express type train. Fiyero is now part of One Short Day, There are dance breaks added in places (there are some amazing scenes in the Govs. Mansion!) , some new teachers at the school to expand the animals storyline and of course the two new songs in part 2, 1 each for Glinda and Elphaba.
Glinda's song is a ballad called 'The Girl In The Bubble' and Elphaba gets a song called 'There's No Place Like Home' which is sung when she is banished from returning home and a great tie in to the original Wizard of Oz.film.
The cameo's for Idina and Kristin are in One Short Day and they play actors in the Wizomania cast.
There's no major new storylines that I recall. As Long As Your Mine is shot in a massive birds nest type set, high up in the trees. The sets are spectacular and the details in the sets and costumes are insane.
Those yellow bricks were the flimsiest paper mache bricks ever made. Look out for them in the Wizards workshop scenes too. There are also some amazing gadgets in those scenes, and the' Wizards Head', that is operated by the wizard behind the curtain, is a nassive wooden sculpture, at lease 12ft tall and it's very creepy!
Dorothy is in the film, but no more than she is in the stage show. It's not a speaking role.

It’s deffo live vocals then. I do wonder why they would choose to do that. Nobody cares, or expects it. It just adds an element of peril that can wrong as much as it can go right. Self indulgence by the Director, just as is the decision to make it two films.

The number has been extended and Fiyero has new lines to sing, the girls still sing 2 best friends. The girls visit different places, like the beauty salon, which looks incredible with about 40 dancers in it, all doing the same thing in synch.

Self indulgence by the Director, just as is the decision to make it two films. It was (mostly) live vocals on set, but singing along to prerecords and it will be mixed in the edit. It wont be anything like the Les Mis vocals. i don't think it will anyway. Who know what could happen between now and then. I do wonder if they might decide to go back to 1 film, cutting chunks of both and making it 1 long film.

What are the chances of us getting something at the Superbowl? I’d be surprised if they didn’t. Wicked is probably Universals biggest film this year and this is the perfect opportunity to release a first teaser and start the marketing campaign. Grace Randolph who is a movie critic and insider tweeted out that she has so far heard that Disney has 3 spots and Universal has 1. Then adding “Rumor is D, A, A and W” D is most likely Deadpool 3. The 2 As could be a number of things. But I feel like the W could only be Wicked. Though Universal is also releasing a Wolf Man movie this year so who knows! Not long to find out.

Confirmed. The first look at the film will be in the first ad break of the SuperBowl this weekend.
Now I need to think how I can watch it and record it.
