Thought I'd take the plunge and set this up.
This thread is for discussion of plot/staging/anything "spoilery" after first previews begin. General content (ticket sales, casting etc) are good for the main discussion thread.

I'm interested to see how they structure the plays, will there be a cliffhanger at the end of part 1 for example?

Will this new "spoiler" thread be like the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory spoiler thread on the old forum, which eventually just became the general Charlie and the Chocolate Factory thread?

Well we could try and establish and 'pin' rules to the top of this thread? For example, is discussing a portrayal of a character that has existed in films and in book for a spoiler? I don't think it is, personally. Unless it was discussing something specific to an event in the play.
Any discussion of set, plot or any kind of FX is a spoiler.

What happened to Keep the Secrets?

Nope, if it's the other side of the proscenium, I think it's all spoilers. Some people might want to be surprised by even which characters are involved, or even if they don't mind knowing which characters are involved, characterisation can be just as surprising and suspenseful as basic plot. If you're talking about your experience with the bag check or what your seat was like in the vaguest terms, then you can post in the other thread. But ANYTHING else should be in here, to keep the other thread as safe as possible for even the most spoiler-phobic. I'd even suggest that a list of available merchandise could be considered worth putting in the spoiler thread rather than the safe one.

Just so long as everyone declares "I solemnly swear that I cant keep my trap shut" and "Spoilers Managed" every time they enter and leave the thread then we'll be fine.

The set looks great in pictures, they clearly had a decent budget for it.
Baz tweeted that there are live owls, what it is with Sonia Friedman and animals. Legally Blonde and Shakespeare in Love had dogs and this has owls.

The only spoiler I've seen on Twitter is that one of the owls escaped during the show (and I guess it was visible to the audience cause there are several tweets about it)

Well the first preview has produced the first sort of review in the Mirror - but doesn't give much away

Well the first preview has produced the first sort of review in the Mirror - but doesn't give much away It was released during the intermission of the show, and I'm guessing it was written before that... I skimmed through it and couldn't find anything that wasn't previously online. Is everyone just respecting Rowling's wishes and not releasing anything?

Live owls must be tough to work with. Producer Sonia Friedman says not as tough as working with certain actors!

Thank you for the recap Kevin, I gasped too haha. Sounds like a fun night in the theatre- for the fans at least. Do you think it warrants being played in two parts?

So the cursed child isn't Albus but Scorpius. I'm assuming Harry isn't going to stay dead for long because of the time travel aspect.
How is Noma as Hermione and Paul as Ron?

I genuinely can't only think of 2 cuts - the train lady and I've already forgotten the 2nd one but there was 1 little bit in the second act! I agree about the train lady, however I'd already forgotten about her! So yes, shorten that or get rid of her completely along with her fingers. The thing I thought could be shortened was Harry's first dream.

No, I think Albus is very much the cursed child - Harry Potter's son who does not live up to the family name - Slytherin, limited magical ability and incredibly unpopular. Do James and Lily (the other Potter kids, not his parents) appear at all? It must suck for Albus if he's the runt of the litter.
