What's on stage had link for new book coming out October 1st recording the refurbishment of his theatres. Link goes to Amazon UK site and the few pages they preview has some good photography and hopefully will give a chance to study in detail the beauty and features of the auditorium we never get a chance to fully see as other people are in the way as well as behind the scenes of the rebuilding and repair work. Nice to have a different type of theatre book to put on the Christmas list this year rather than an actor's biography or the making of the musical book. £40 at Amazon at the moment www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/master-of-the-house-book-cameron-mackintosh_57060.html

They quote the RRP as £30 not £40. They are£23.59 & £27.60 respectively. The book does look a lot like the other ones Michael Coveney has done that I already have.

The Michael Coveney books are good but very similar.

Certainly looks like another Michael Coveney book in the usual format from the images on Amazon. Good quality no doubt but wondering if there maybe some repetition across the publications.
With this one being called 'Master of the House' I get the impression it's going to be all high praise and not sure I could stomach a book documenting the work of Cameron the Architect, Cameron the Producer, Cameron the Interior Designer, Cameron the plasterer, Cameron the I-am-eron, etc. Will flick through a physical copy before taking to the till.

All the theatres are covered in the other 2 of his books I have. Looks like too much repetition for me except for a picture of Charlie Stemp in "Half a Sixpence" that isn't in the others.
