Any suggestions for getting a post-performance bite to eat and drink near the Royal Opera House? Our show ends at 10:30 and we can't make it to our usual Joe Allen in time for their last order time. Thanks.

I'd say yes, thank you very much, are you paying?
We used to like La Perla, the cocktail bar, but it is sadly long gone.

The Ivy is usually open post theatre. Thought you needed a second mortgage or to be Jude Law to be able to gain access to the Ivy?

No. The Ivy now has a private club next door so the "A" listers all go there and don't have to mix with us lesser beings. You can order oysters and caviar if you want to splash put but their burgers, shepherd's pie and fish and chips are within most peoples budget and David Beckhams favourite dish is the shepherd's pie and I agree.

The Ivy Soho and The Ivy Manchester are the same menu and the same prices. It’s not “fancy”.

There's a difference between the original Ivy restaurant and the Ivy Brasseries which is their 'diffusion' brand. Ivy Brasseries are basically the same whether they're in Manchester, Glasgow, Covent Garden, Soho or Chichester. The original Ivy Restaurant in West Street, Covent Garden still has its own menu and character, although it's been vastly diminished over the last few years. I don't see caviar on any of the Ivy Brasserie menus for example, but it's there at the original.

Thanks, all. Just booked The Ivy Market Grill. Our first post-lockdown trip to London and can't wait to get there.

Thanks, all. Just booked The Ivy Market Grill. Our first post-lockdown trip to London and can't wait to get there. Ivy Marketgrill is lovely and great food. One of my favourite restaurants and the first place I went back to when they all reopened after lockdown.
