I seem to remember lots of people complaining about it when they bought as they seemed to be expecting a novel rather than the bare bones you get in a script. At least in the US Kindle store on Amazon, it wasn't advertised as a script but as more of a sequel. I was caught by that, but Amazon refunded the purchase when I cancelled on seeing what it was (and wasn't). I don't think I was aware of the play then, so wasn't thinking in those terms.

Today’s show was cancelled halfway through Part 2 due to sickness.

They've put those decent seats up in price sometime since the pandemic so they're no longer discounted sadly! If A5 stalls is available that's an excellent seat, and still discounted compared to those around it at £50 for both.

lightinthedarkness D28 my beloved. be there and love it.. have't sat in A5 but A26 soo yeap they are lovely. Probably all better seat sold out . I was looking in December on some April dates ( when cheap ticket were still on sale) and you can buy E3 back then but only in a package with E4 for 160 £ ... probably no longer keep better rvs in BO (they released more less in 2 weeks before the date on the website but this "policy" was 3 years ago) I think i need start looking other show to visit ;/ ( lottery is no a option zero chance )

Heard through the grapevine that the audience were made to leave halfway through the show the other day, nothing on social media except cryptic sad tweets by the cast/crew? Anyone know what happened?

The sad tweets definitely hint towards something very sad happening…hope everyone’s Ok. I notice Jamie Ballard hasn’t been on as Harry since a mid show cancellation in January.

Please can anyone tell if there are any loud bangs across the two performances and roughly when to expect them. Thank you.

Please can anyone tell if there are any loud bangs across the two performances and roughly when to expect them. Thank you. I'm going to see this in New York next weekend so would also appreciate the heads up (although the NYC version is one part and cuts a lot so I guess there may be differences)

There’s one jump scare that’s accompanied by a loud bang in Act 3 (so the first act of part two). It’s a good few scenes into act 3 from what I remember. Without spoiling too much but to give you an idea of when to expect it it comes after the sort of ‘main events’ so to speak of that act.
From what I know of the new one part version it’s part of the many aspects of the show that’s been cut so won’t be in that.
Some of the spell effects are accompanied by noise but nothing too loud.

The show implies Cedrick becomes a death eater just because he was embarrassed during the Triwizard Tournament.

Have to say the short version sounds pretty bad

Apparently the intention is for London to be the only place to see the 2 part version and it will remain 2 parts indefinitely and why it’s being pushed lately as the “spellbinding original”.
Now that the Australian production is 1 part the only production outside of London that is 2 parts now is Hamburg though there hasn’t been any indication on when that may switch to 1.
What isn’t always obvious from a lot of the 1 part reviews is that a couple of the illusions have also been simplified so while they often claim that all of the illusions have been maintained there’s a couple that aren’t as impressive in execution.

Tbh I think that "indefinitely" means until it keeps selling very well, then they'll switch to the one part version for a couple of years and then they'll close

Completely agree on that, I know they’d never release it but I wonder what the saving is on a switch to the one part! Imagine it’s a fair amount.

Looking forward to seeing this for the first time in November! I have booked stalls row R but looking at the view from on SeatPlan, there is a bit of overhang from the circle cutting off the top of the stage. Does anyone know if I'll miss much from these seats?

I think you will be fine. I checked SeatPlan too, and it seems you can see all the way up the arches of the set from row R. I don't think anything ever appears above those arches - basically, if you can see the clock you won't miss anything at all.

Just seen that a US tour is starting next fall.
Does that mean that a UK tour could also be on the horizon? And if so would it be in one part or two?

What happened to the Manchester production?? I don't think there's ever been plans announced for Manchester. I think, having had a quick Google, some sites are (deliberately or through poor researching) conflating the Palace Theatre in Manchester with the one in London. That might be the root cause of it?

What happened to the Manchester production?? There were definitely conversations had about a sit-down Edinburgh production.
