Thanks all for the advice, just procured two of the Friday Forty seats which must have been returned earlier today. £20 per part, for BB10 and 11. Happy Christmas to me!

Just spent £145 for this for 10th January, front row and centre 1 tier up. A long time coming but I've put if off for so long and the Christmas prosecco consumption has convinced me to finally go!

Finally seeing this this week! Just wondering how strict they are with taking bottled water into the theatre? Sorry, I know this must have been answered earlier in the thread but 94 pages is a lot to search through!

They did let people take it when I went but that was a year ago. Maybe someone else has been more recently. (Bottled water is very expensive inside the Theatre.)

If they're searching bags, but you've got a jacket pocket capable of holding a bottle of water.....

Thanks all, I was there yesterday. We were allowed bottled water but I did have to sacrifice a cereal bar, even though I’d been sneaky and put in my coat pocket, haha!

When I went with Peggs she took it as a challenge to sneak in as many snacks as possible! Water was not really a problem as they have free water in the bar....I had to ask the first time I went but I seem to remember it being there on return visit this year!

It depends which security person you go to, I was patted down for Part 1 but not Part 2, and it was the opposite for my friend.

I'll be visiting London from the U.S. in June for a short teaching stint, and I'm looking forward to seeing this. (I already have my tickets.) How is the current cast? People here are raving about the London cast that transferred to Broadway. Getting tickets to see them, however, is insanely difficult and expensive. I'm hoping that the replacement cast I'm going to see in London will be strong as well.

The way I look at it is I'd rather they charge high prices than touts do it. If there wasn't a market people wouldn't pay. Random aside question in case someone knows - do we have any idea of Harry understudy dates at the moment?

The cast are not allowed to tell anyone their holiday dates. The understudy was on for Harry earlier on this month for a week.

Pointless. Everybody knows the dates of the Quidditch World Championships, and which cast members are avid enough fans to pull a sickie. World Cup, not championships, dear @theatremonkey - call yourself a Harry Potter fan?

I can understand this with cast 1 . but with next one . Pointless . Sometimes info about understudy you can find at twitter ( i mean couple days before show) At least official. you can ask them. Sometimes the give you a hint , less know member even said when they can be in bigger role Or Ask People which are regular at show. They know everything

Just opened my TodayTix app and noticed that you can now use it to apply to the Friday Forty - enter for the following week’s performances between midnight on Monday and 1pm on Friday, winners are notified between 1pm and 5pm on Friday. 2 tix per person as for the Friday Forty through the website, and you can set an alert so that TodayTix notifies you every week when their entries open. I wonder if TodayTix have been given their own allocation or if it’s just being used as another entry channel for the usual lottery through the website?

I expect it’s a new allocation (but I don’t think these seats will be in prime positions as the original Friday 40). It’s not a guaranteed sellout any more.

They've used Friday Forty via TodayTix for the Broadway production so it's too surprising they've decided to partner with them for the London production

Just reading about this properly on the HP site and I think the TodayTix version of Friday Forty is replacing the old one.
The thing that isn’t clear. Is the new Friday Forty still 40 tickets for every performance, or is it just 40 tickets (cumulative) across the whole week?
I imagine it will be like their other lotteries where you have one hour to claim, after which the tickets are offered to someone else.
