Great article I wonder if Company Dressing rooms for ensemble casts are still split Male and Female with performers being none binary or often in same sex relationships.
Also are performers ever allowed to sleep overnight in their dressing rooms to save travel/hotel costs?

Though recently I've had a "would you be comfortable sharing a dressing room with this person and this person" instead which makes more sense then just matching people up by genitalia and calling it a day. And no, you can't sleep there. You paid an allowance to cover accomadation on tour.

And no, you can't sleep there. You paid an allowance to cover accomadation on tour. It was just seeing a few beds in the dressing rooms and there had been a few stories down the year of people sleeping in their dressing rooms but fire regulations etc would likely make that a no go. As regards the dressing rooms they were always gender split unless maybe some of the cast happened to be an item. Also with the stories of some unpleasant behaviour occasionally as well as a lot of young attractive people in confined spaces it makes sense. But with lots of performers being in same sex relationships I could fully understand people who have no attraction to each other being happy to change together. This would have to be carefully managed and as Firefingers says "It would be everyone feeling comfortable with each other" type scenario although I'm sure in many walks of life straight and gay people of the same sex change together and no-one would even think twice about it.
