Hello all,
Hopefully the right place to post this- I have around £80 of Theatre tokens received as a gift - in fact received over 6 months ago! I feel I need to use them asap and have seen many shows using cash in the last few months as I am struggling to use or understand the tokens…
I find them frustrating as the website always directs me to buy tickets via Official London tickets and they don’t seem to have the best price… am I doing it wrong? Can I take to the box office or even just spend at the bar?
I just feel annoyed as to use them it seems like I’m limited on available seats etc, for example if I wanted to see Cinderella tomorrow I can get £30 ticks but vis the the Theatre Tokens only £75+
Any help for this theatre going fool?

Many theatres will accept them in person at the box office or over the phone. I have just recently used mine by calling the Bridge theatre and booking on their line. The call including a very short queue was less than 5 minutes if I recall right.

Thanks Dave B that’s really helpful! Will try at box office as that seems like better value and options!

I have theatre tokens think £250 pounds worth that i received as part of a gift for 25 years’ long service award.
I cannot seem to find them anywhere, how can I find them? Like the above poster ellesbelles I have been reluctant to use them as they only seem to work with full price tickets.

They can be used for the New Year Sale or for the daily tkts discounts if you’d like to use them on discounted theatre. I do agree upon their limited use though and I prefer friends and family to buy me TodayTix vouchers over these as so much more choice on Rush tickets.

If you registered them at the time, then you should be able to login here and see the details: www.theatretokens.com/
Otherwise, have you looked in the drawer by the TV? That's where I always find the random lost bits around here.

I have just posted this elsewhere but I got an email today saying you can use Theatre Tokens as a form of payment for Delfont Mackintosh theatres online now, I know it doesn't help with your Cinderella ticket problem but its a step forward in my view as another place you can use them online

Great thanks Paul! The Cinderella was a hypothetical ticket choice (saw it once and wondered whether or not to give it another go…)will check out Delfont Mackintosh and see! Thank you.

I saw someone mention in the MR thread that they used their theatre tokens to book tickets for that. Does ATG now allow you to input theatre tokens online in the way DMT does? Or do you still need to call up on the phone?

SOLT really have dragged their feet on a proper roll-out of online redemption of Theatre Tokens for many many years already. They do not care, it seems. Their scheme is in danger of being abandoned by modern theatregoers who want to book online.

No you still have to ring ATG for their theatres but I will say I got my ticket for MR yesterday off the tkts site using Theatre Tokens as it worked out cheaper after the booking fees were added and they seem to have the same availability plan as the theatre direct. As far as I know it is only DMT that are allowing payment with theatre tokens through the website at the moment

Pretty much all west end box offices accept them in person, for any ticket price or offer. It's just another payment method.

With Chrristmas coming, and presents to buy, including for ourselves, I obviously wish I could grant everyone a 50% discount, like in the days of the O2 offer. Best I can do, I'm afraid, is a 10% discount for those of us with some kind of Mastercard. Use code MC10 at checkout. The 'small' print: Offer open until 23.59 on 31 December 2023. £5 minimum and £500 maximum order value per household. www.theatretokens.com/

One thing to note. Maybe I'm naive but I was surprised to be charged a transaction fee and interest when I bought a token with a credit card. They treat it in the same way as a foreign currency purchase. Worth knowing, especially if you think of buying several as gifts.

One hint is to buy the One4All gift card, then exchange the gift card for theatre tokens. You can usually find One4All discounted somewhere (and they have an offer on their site at the moment).
It's only a small saving, but it all adds up.
I've never been charged a credit card fee, but your mileage may vary.

To my delight I recently found a stash of theatre tokens, and everywhere I used them (in person at box office) just treated them as a form of payment - there were no restrictions.
Mine were several years old.
It is annoying you cannot redeem them online.

It is annoying you cannot redeem them online. You can at some places, but not many. I know because I have. What's annoying is that they send you information about events that you actually can't use the tokens on-line for. You click the link to 'Buy on-line' and then says, you can't.

It is annoying you cannot redeem them online. DMT and TKTS allow you to redeem online, but everywhere else you have to phone up or go to the box office
