Gabriel Byrne's one man show based on his memoir of the same name.
I saw this last evening, the first preview, and was captivated by him, can't remember the last time I laughed and cried so much during one show. He retold different events from his life, mostly childhood, in a (seemingly) simple manner. He effortlessly slipped in and out of characters he interacted with and we were with him every step of the way. He left us in on some very personal situations, sharing his humanity. Nothing showbiz at all about him, despite him mentioning the odd showbiz story, his Oliver Reed impersonation is particularly good.
He was quite emotional at the end, so much so he bowed quickly and ran off the stage, not returning for an encore despite the audience standing and applauding enthusiastically.
