Had to see this one last time before it closed and it was a great night. Cast was on excellent form, enthusiastic audience (apart from the woman behind me who fell asleep and snored through the very silent bit at the end).
I'm really glad this was transferred. Its been one of my favourite shows I've seen this year.

well closing was a very emotional affair tonight. lots of tears and so much applause after the everyone (the understudies and crew came on to join bows) left the stage they all had to come back out for a second round of bows.

Daniel Fish was in the audience last night. I thought as usual the show was just perfect. I already miss it.

I ended up seeing the Friday evening performance (from the front row) and the Saturday matinee (from a few rows back). Both were rush tickets. I didn't expect to like sitting further back, but actually I got a very clear view and picked up on things I hadn't seen before. It is a comfortable theatre (at least in the Stalls).
I have to say that I did really take to this production in the end. Full credit to all of the cast too, especially Stavros Demetraki and James Patrick Davis, who I saw every time, always full of enthusiasm. James also brought a dog on stage for the Friday performance at the start of the second half, all dressed up like it was Christmas. Very cute!
The Saturday matinee was exceptionally enthusiastic, as you might expect. Sally Ann Triplett (also always excellent) showed that Aunt Eller is just as keen at kissing as Ado Annie. Even Cord (Phillip Olagoke) got a nice kiss from Will Parker (James Patrick Davis).
I know that traditionalists didn't like this production too much, but I enjoyed this so much more than a traditional Oklahoma! (and that's speaking as someone who generally thinks that the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals are the greatest of all time). I regret that I couldn't make the final performance, but that's timing for you. Hopefully this will production will get another outing at some point, but if not, I do hope that these orchestrations survive.

Anyone heard if this will tour? I really really hope it will as I adored this production. But I really doubt it will since it didn't seem like a commercial success. Praying for it though.
