Opens on Friday (I believe).
I caught a preview screening of this last week.
This tells the storey of the antics of Richard Williams, the father of famous female black tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams.
Now I not follow sports in any way- never have and I guess never will- but my gosh I enjoyed this.
Because I don't follow sports I am not familiar with Richard Williams antics or behaviour however Will Smith is just sensational; a much more mature role.
His whole physical demeanour changes as does his speech patterns.
Also look out for the performance of Aunjanue Ellis who holds her own as his wife, Oracene 'Brandy' Williams
Thoroughly enjoyable even for a non-sporting person like me.
Co-incidently Will Smith is on The One Show tonight.

Agreed - Will Smith is brilliant in this, as is Aunjanue Ellis. I didn't know the back story but the film is really engaging and at times very funny. Highly recommend.

Don’t know how accurate the film is, but I really enjoyed watching it. Wonderful performance from Will Smith.

To be fair the coach’s ‘tache was pretty amusing, but I don’t recall actually laughing out loud either.

Not laugh out loud moments no, but enough for me to crack a lot of smiles throughout.

I think for most of us ‘very funny’ means laughing out loud! ‘Smiling a lot’ at it would just be ‘amusing’.
