It depends where you want to stand really. I like to get there early and either get a good spot near the front or sit on the steps. We normally start queuing about 8.30am and last year there was a pretty big queue already when we got there. It's gotten really popular and so much busier than when I first started going. You can get in and out during the day but there's normally pretty big queues to get back in. We left about 4 last year after Jersey Boys and there was still quite a big queue to get in. It's a good day though and a great chance to see lots of different shows.

Ah see i don't think i'll be able to get there until about 10 at the earliest, so guess i will need to be prepared to wait a bit.

Yeah I got there for around 10:30 last year. Had to queue and missed all my favourite shows! Queue was around 45 mins for us. My first time and LOVED it. Really wanted to go this year but seeing a show in the day! The show I'm seeing isn't even performing though. Very good day out

Love West End Live, been a few years now. A friend of mine usually waits in the queue whilst I dayseat a show then I join him before gates open.
Last year we were very lucky and as we were thinking of leaving for lunch we got approached by a Priceless Angel who chatted to us about our favourite shows and then gave us entry into the VIP area. Lots of free champagne, beer and Fortnum & Mason food later we did finally leave. I've tasted the high life, not sure I can leave it now.

Been every year except 2 - Didn't know about it the first year & last year in Leicester Sq couldn't afford the journey. It is a fantastic day out but exhausting from hours of queuing & standing. You need to bring food & plenty of water - and my bugbear:- bring a mac not an umbrella as umbrellas block everyone else's view.

That happened to me 2 years ago (I couldn't go last year). I felt incredibly underdressed.

Hmm might go and dress up and cross fingers for this VIP-area.. Only kidding, die-hard queuing and hopefully i'll be front row again just like the last couple of years. If you hear someone scream 'WELFIE IN 3-2-1' it's probably me, so put on your prettiest smile

Wasn't my idea. Hahaha. 3 things I hate about WEL (mind the sarcasm) 1. Mastercards marketing campaign (although thanks for the sponsoring!) 2. The Katy-cam 3. the word #Welfie. 33 times per hour. (But then I can't upload it using 'hashtag Welfie', as my 3G signal never works when I'm standing at an overcrowded Trafalgar SQ.) But no complains, VIP area or in the crowd, im superexcited for 2 days filled with musicals!

Does each show normally do one or two songs?
