It's quite a clunky play in places, and a couple of the decisions with the staging in the second part I didn't agree with (one technique/gimmick they use is a particular annoyance of mine so it took me out of the ending)
One of the best stage performances I think I've ever seen though. Staggering it's her debut and I hope we see a lot more from her in the future.

I really hate 'lights up on the audience' as a technique

Maybe, but the theatre industry is very snooty about TV actors, especially those who didn’t go to drama school. (And it was way worse a few years ago.) Having worked for the RSC off and on over the years, I doubt the RSC of 2015 would have looked favourably on (“rising star” but still fairly obscure) TV actor with no training or stage experience. Hell I still hear snide comments about Jodie now - which are likely jealousy or snobbery. Even David Tennant being cast as Hamlet drew a lot of anti-TV snobbery and ire, and he started his career with the RSC and played leading roles there for years before becoming a TV star. I very much hope that she’ll do more theatre but I imagine it will be in tent pole commercial West End productions like this, not necessarily one-woman shows but certainly plays written around her character. I admit I am a bit of a snob as I like actors to prove themselves on all fronts. Theatre actors may sometimes get more the gongs and be seen as the best dramatic actors but film and TV work are certainly more lucrative so those stars are laughing all the way to the bank. I'm amazed to hear snobbery about DT as he was an RSC company member well before he jumped into the Tardis. Likewise with Patrick Stewart or Ian McDiarmid two fine stage actors who took on very lucrative Sci Fi roles did they get comments anout that. I think even the great Dame Judi was once asked why she took a role possibly the Chronicles of Riddick and she replied if you'd been offered what I was for that role you'd have taken it.

The residuals Sir Patrick earns from Star Trek alone likely means he can do whatever the hell he wants.
Even Dame Maggie has done commercial films, Sister Act and The First Wives Club come to mind.

It took an awful lot of refreshing on ATG, but I’m off to tonight’s performance! Stalls row K so hoping I’ll have a good view, will report back later/tmrw. Very excited and of course there’s nothing like a last minute bank holiday dash from Bournemouth to the West End!

Well 24 hours later I’m still thinking about Jodie’s performance - incredible. Just remembering and delivering that script across 100 minutes with barely a break is admirable, but then to act the life out of every line with accents, expressions, and everything else she put into the physicality of the performance was just breathtaking.
I was drawn in from the off and the audience sat as one in pretty much total silence (bar the laughter in the right places) the whole way through. I really think she should get every award going for this, it’s a piece of theatre that’ll stick in my memory for a long time. So glad I persevered with dogged determination to get a return!

Has anyone had any luck with the Wednesday "pay what you can tickets" yet? I got through to the booking page but then realised I'm on holiday next week, typically!

Has anyone had any luck with the Wednesday "pay what you can tickets" yet? I was lucky last week. Waited in the queue about 10 minutes before getting to the front. There were seats dotted around multiple levels but they disappeared very fast - I got row C of the dress circle (going tonight, very excited!). When checking out there was just a selection to choose how much you want to pay in £1 increments, the lowest amount was £1.

Has anyone had any luck with the Wednesday "pay what you can tickets" yet? Yeah, it's definitely possible although it seems that absolutely heaps of people are going for it (and probably even more now after press night). On the first week, I had the lottery page open on 3 different devices and didn't even get close. On the other hand, my pal joined the queue about 1 minute before it launched and got through in a couple of minutes and grabbed tickets for row L, central stalls with a very decent view. Returns are also popping up online several times daily, although they go very quickly. Keep trying!

Well, third time lucky on the lottery! The red bar was sprinting at first today, and then came to a pause for a few minutes, before resuming its sprint and I managed to get tickets for Saturday night. Was worried I would miss this one but luck was definitely on my side today.

Thanks for the replies about the lottery. I got closer today as managed to get 1 in my basket but by the time i checked out it had gone. Hopefully I'll follow Mark's example and be 3rd time lucky next week. I did see one return online during the week, but couldn't afford the full price ticket, so the lottery is my only chance I think to see it live (will see the NT live if not)

Well worth continuing to check for returns as they do come up at lower price points too (I’ve seen them at £40, £25 and £15), but they sell at lightening speed regardless of price, so it’s all down to luck as to when you hit that refresh button!

Just come home from the show tonight. The piece hit very close to home for me and left me quite angry and upset. Stunning performance from Jodie - I cannot believe this is her stage debut.

Well, she's great isn't she It is an incredible performance and she never makes it look like hard work. Wasn't 100% sold on how the ending was written, felt like it strayed slightly too far from the court room setting and rules but no complaints about how it was delivered. Also, couldn't help noticing that the ceiling of the set appears to be made from Ivo's Human Voice box. I hope they've let Ruth out...

Hi all, like a number of people on this, I have been trying for months to get a ticket for Prima Facie and no success on ticket swap or the online lottery. Has anyone here managed to get a standing ticket on the day? And if so what time did you queue from in the morning to get one? the theatre box office opens at 10am - is that correct? Considering travelling to London to try my luck but can’t afford to go on a fools errand if there’s little hope of getting one. Any info would be appreciated 🙏🏻 Thanks in advance 😊

Or going to box office before 6 pm and trying ur luck for spare returns. You can prolly call ahead too before heading out.

I’ve looked a couple of times at ATG’s website, and it usually just shows “sold out.” I’ve looked tonight and there’s a countdown to tickets going on general sale. Is this one of those shows where they keep releasing extra seats now and again? Or is it extending/transferring or something?

How strange - just looked myself and you’re absolutely right. It’s counting down to midday so might be worth a check back then!
And if you’re still after a ticket, the returns do come up, you just need to refresh, refresh and refresh again until something appears. It worked for me but it did take quite a while. They go super quick when they do pop up!

I have just been on the site and there seem to be quite a few tickets for £5 in the stalls. I booked a pair. An extra show next Tuesday, I think Not got Jodie Comer in it I just found out

Would have thought the same except the lottery is at 10am and the countdown was to midday (just over 4 hours when I looked at around 8am this morning). Perhaps it was for the extra matinee next Tuesday (sans Jodie).

How many months/years in advance do you have to book tickets for a show like this? I had no idea it was even in the pipeline, and I found out too late.
Also, is it really that popular or is the production creating artificial scarcity to drive up the hype?
