Also there tonight, got picked to be “Steve” and made my partner stand up instead 😂. Massive well done to Charlotte, she absolutely smashed it!
Didn’t find Rebecca’s performance engaging at all and her mic seemed quieter than others - struggled to hear her at times. Quite a few mic timing issues as well.

I don't think this is a performer problem, I think it's a direction issue. Christina was the same at the end of the most recent London run and it was utterly intolerable, but that wasn't how she started in the role at all. assumed it was this after I posted, I don’t mean any frustration then towards Wickes as she can definitely do the role my first time seeing the show in person after telling myself not to watch any yt recording of a production, it’s a decent show but wouldn’t put it that far up on my list .. …it worked with CB though. Her giddiness at being a Heather only lasted a few songs until the reality of what it meant set in.

Didn't work for me :') I was sat there in horror at the farce they'd turned a previously good show into. Sounds like the tour has gone the same way, so now I have little hope for ToP revival.

Yes, you might want to give it the swerve 😬
Seriously though, it’s like she’s playing down in age to about 14. It is bizarre.

From a rumour post by TheatreFan and remark made by Paul Taylor-Mills at MusicalCon, it sounds like this is going back out on tour next year.

Hopefully, we might get something new at The Other Palace.

I’d be surprised if they did another tour it didn’t sell well the first time round

Cannot understand how they financially think this is wise

Because the (plywood) sets and costumes already exist and it has a relatively small cast which can be filled with talented, cheap unknowns looking for their big break. Even at half capacity they’re making bank. I just hope that they choose the venues a bit better so that the tiny set doesn’t look lost on some of the countries biggest stages.

I could see it doing reasonably well if touring the smaller venues, a bit like Fantastically Great Women recently did. I don't know what the venues were on the last tour, but if we're talking about the bigger regional theatres then I'm not surprised if it struggled. I think I'd just be pleased for the opportunity to see it minus the obsessive fans that haunt TOP.

It definitely needs to play the smaller regional houses…The New Theatre in Cardiff, not WMC…etc, and if that means missing out Bristol, Manchester and Liverpool in favour of Bath. Chester and the like and actually fitting the space and its business model so be it.

If they make decisions like Oxford Playhouse instead of New Theatre Oxford then it stands a chance, but Kenwright is known for chucking Blood Brothers in barns like the New and Edinburgh Playhouse and not being bothered...

They played the Edinburgh Playhouse last year. That set looked absolutely ridiculous on that massive stage. Edinburgh definitely has better options for this new tour!

As has been explained before; there isn’t the space backstage for walking cover, so it has to be a swap out or a call-in. Uncle Bill isn’t gonna pay to have people on standby if he has a load of willing ex-cast members that he can call on. PTM is very well liked by the teams that work with him so there are people willing to it for him & the show. I appreciate there isn't room at TOP but there should be on tour. The Alex in BHam is a big venue,

The King's in Edinburgh is currently closed for refurb and that's the place it would work best here imo. Their only other option is the Festival which is again, a massive stage. so it would still look lost.

I’d love to see it in the Bristol Old Vic or even in my local Weston Playhouse. We’ve had BB and Joseph so why not Heathers? 600 seat auditorium, centrally located for rail and bus to Bristol and beyond. The management must have some pull as we’ve had several big name comedians trial their arena tours here, Jane M and some other great one off concerts. C’mon Billy, send us your Heathers. They can have their own dressing room!

I could see the lyceum being okay, may be a little small but bigger than TOP They mostly produce their own work and have a much more mature audience demographic. I think if they come back here I'd rather they just go to the Festival over the Playhouse. Of the big 2 musical houses here it feels a little more cosier despite being quite big.

Or the announcement could be that the uk is finally getting the pro shot?? The fact that the Alex in Birmingham posted about it heavily suggests a UK tour, there’s no reason why a touring theatre would publicise a proshot release of a random show.

I just meant in terms of size 🤣 I can’t see Graham & Fenella dashing straight from work via a Quinoa & Sweet Potato risotto to see ‘Heathers’. Not even if you put Josette Simon in it.

Bord Gais theatre just announced this for a week next April so it’s evidently going back on tour.
