So is this the new Fox in/on the box. Sorry about the pun, with football starting today, a Fox in the box is striker that scores tap ins and Fox being a right wing Trump loving American News Network. So I wonder how long before they sign Laurence Fox, Richard Little John, Nick Ferrari or Katie Hopkins, or any other very angry WASP. Alistair Stewart has signed already, he should steer clear of any Shakespeare quotes, especially if they contain animals, ‘cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war’ is fine though. it’s going to be on the wireless as well. So anyone going to be tuning in? www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9677021/Now-GB-News-takes-radio-New-network-reveals-plans-national-service.html

They don't need Fox they've already got Neil Oliver, who claims he's apolitical then goes on to say lockdowns were wrong in a piece in the Herald, and who is already on the record as despising anything "woke" (including many things which aren't, like many of the rest of the right wing rent-a-gobs).

Not really heard of Neil Oliver but he does sounds awful. I look at Daily Mail online sometimes, what Dan Wootton writes for, he sounds equally terrifying. He is anti immigration/anti woke despite being an immigrant himself from New Zealand.
Even with the Tory Andrew Neil at the helm, it is very expensive to set up a tv station, so wonder how they’re funded?
They say they’re not going to do rolling news which they wouldn’t be able to afford to do, as that is astronomically expensive, it is just opinion, which is just as freighting, as you can say what you want and you cannot sue for libel if it is deemed ‘opinion.’

Yes I’ll be tuning in. I’ve always thought Andrew Neil to be an excellent interviewer. I don’t see what party he votes for has to do with it, he doesn’t show any bias in who he mauls. I’ll be giving Dan Wootton and Michelle Dewberry’s shows a miss simply because they’re gobs on sticks and I don’t want to listen to their voices.

I’m interested to see what it’s like. There’s definitely room for a TV news organisation with a centrist or centre right outlook, compared to others which might be coming at things from the left (though not necessarily, I appreciate, the print media).
It will also be interesting to see what ratings they get. Certainly the recent electoral and polling successes for the Conservatives suggests there may well be an audience out there.
Am most looking forward to Andrew Neil, Inaya Folarin Iman, Alastair Stewart and Andrew Doyle.

Interestingly, given its name, GB News is funded primarily by overseas investors. The two lead investors are Discovery, the US TV network that owns a range of satellite and cable channels like Eurosport, Animal Planet and so on; and Legatum, a private investment firm headquartered in Dubai, which funds the Legatum Institute think tank which supported Brexit and funded the Vote Leave chair Matthew Elliot.
Discovery has recently become part of the Warner Bros Discovery group which means that GB News will now be under the same ownership as CNN.

Anything that triggers leftists has my full support. It's been hilarious to watch them go into full meltdown before a single second of output has been broadcast.
GB News' Yorkshire correspondent is one Kevin Larkin, who I know from his time at BBC Radio Sheffield, the most left-wing radio station in all England. I'm shocked that he was bluffing all those years. Shocked, I tell you! And who knew that Simon McCoy is actually one of 'them'? He always seemed so nice.

It can't be in the remotest way like Fox News because Ofcom rules don't allow it.

What we do know is that Channel 4 News thought it was just fine for their main news presenter Jon Snow to be filmed chanting "F*** the Tories" with no sanction or reprimand at all. If GB News sticks within that definition of lack of bias then that's fine isn't it ?

He didn't broadcast it, if that actually happened, it was at Glastonbury in his private life.
Impartiality rules only apply to what is actually broadcast.
Anyway best to just ignore them, they'll be desperately stirring up controversy as news channels don't do particularly good ratings. It's just another run of the mill TV channel among hundreds, no one is going to be making any significant money with this.

Mmhmm. Let’s just wait and see. The viral clips that they are using as their business model for survival will be popping up soon enough. I imagine what we will see is more right leaning / supposedly neutral presenters platforming the far right rent-a-gobs. It’s something This Morning have been doing very successfully for years and how the likes of Katie Hopkins gained traction in the first place.

I've blocked every account associated with it and muted all words that could conceivably have anything to do with it.
My timeline is now a much happier place and will continue to be without this right wing bile bunging it up.
