Stooopid question but do you have any idea from the director and so on whether this will be a weirdo production or something suitable for 11 year old and 9 year old who have ‘studied’ play at school ?

I was looking last night as I might, potentially, be an 'Islington First' person >>>
No idea what it means in terms of booking.

I wouldn't chance it. Yael is erratically brilliant and her stuff can be very out there .... time will tell

The only stalls tickets I could find were restricted view, although plenty in the circle

The only stalls tickets I could find were restricted view, although plenty in the circle I've generally found what the Almeida label as 'restricted' to be absolutely fine. The support pillars for the second level are really quite narrow.

I agree with Dave B, caa, I've never had a bad seat at the Almeida, and I usually go for the cheaper ones.

So set in the future? Hmmm…might be interesting.

So set in the future? Hmmm…might be interesting. Sorry to remind you of it, but the Norris one at NT was also set in the future and that wasn’t in the slightest bit interesting.

Don’t think so. Last R&J I saw was RSC, unremarkable. Had odd idea of showing ghosts behind the actress giving us her quite good soliloquy as if the director didn’t trust her to be compelling enough. I hate that. Trust the actor, I say. Anyway, if set in the future they would have mobile phones and it wouldn’t be a tragedy and they could do it as a farce. When I am very old…I intend to go to a prod of R&J and stand up and yell at them all, not quite decided at which point to disrupt.

2033 - I made the mistake of assuming they wouldn't let anyone who isn't a member into the queue before 12pm

Well the seats are not ideal, got 2 partially restricted seats in the stalls for final preview- £20 each but hope it won’t be a huge problem.

2033 - I made the mistake of assuming they wouldn't let anyone who isn't a member into the queue before 12pm It said that anyone who was in the queue before 12pm would be randomly assigned a place. I left and rejoined at 12pm and was 186th. Just picked up a restricted view £20 ticket.

123 in the queue. Not a great selection of seats left for any dates that suited us but got two 'restricted view' that we have sat in previously and were not at all restricted so fingers crossed.

Mercifully painless booking. I got E20-22 on a Saturday matinee in the circle, restricted view but I've sat there multiple times before and it's been perfectly fine so hopefully that holds true here too. Can't get much better than seeing Saoirse Ronan for £10 a seat anyway!

Yep, well done Almedia. 17 minutes for me. In the Stalls but a potential neck bender: £20 + donation for hassle-free efficienc.
As well as herself, looking forward to one of @forrest 's A-listers .... Mr James McArdle.

I started at 710 in the queue, when I got through there were only weekday matinées left and a few £10 seats for the Friday I wanted which I grabbed. Everything changed to sold out about 5 mins later.

sold out for the entire slot Absolutely ridiculous - I've been in the queue since 12pm on the dot! Might have to fork out for membership at this rate, which I'm very reluctant to do. There is no reason why they couldn't have put all the performances on sale today so that people could only book one set of tickets each. Saying they're doing it in batches so more people have a chance to get tickets just isn't true, it doesn't work.

Yep I ended up about 1800 and just sold out before I got there. Luck of the draw clearly since others here more successful.

I assume the software keeps them as available until they move from basket to processed cc.IIrc, the Almeida is generous with basket time.

That would sense.
Someone on another board seems to think bookings are limited to 4 tickets and that might be all in one booking so hopefully a different set of people will get a go next time round.

I'm reading all your entries with both a bit of joy (for everyone who managed to get tickets!) and a bit of envy: I'm currently travelling and am without my laptop, so there was no queuing and no tickets for me. :( Hopefully I'll be lucky with the next "tranche", as I really want to see this.

I half-heartedly participated in the bun fight. I could have got a couple of tickets on a couple of dates but they were in bad locations so I will wait till the next booking period. I’d also prefer to see reviews first because their tickets look expensive to me.
