Do we know which show Emily will be doing each week? S Yes it's under the ticket info Madeline Brewer is not scheduled to perform on 12 Oct (matinee), 20 Oct (evening), 26 Oct (matinee), 3 Nov (evening), 9 Nov (matinee), 17 Nov (evening), 23 Nov (matinee), 1 Dec (evening), 7 Dec (matinee), 15 Dec (evening), 21 Dec (matinee), 29 Dec (evening), 4 Jan (matinee), 12 Jan (evening), 18 Jan (matinee) and 26 Jan (evening). At these performances, the role will be played by our alternate Sally Bowles, Emily Benjamin. Just think… if they could’ve managed this for Jessie everyone would’ve been sooooo much happier! 😂

Now drop the prices please. Nine months of dragging the stars, the prices, and endless yakety-yak about attendance. Somebody get this person a ticket.

I’m not fussed about the dining so I’ll just have a standard stalls for £300 please. It will need to be a Saturday night and there’s the hotel and train fare too…

Kubrick I haven’t dragged anyone, I’ve commented on the dreadful attendance record of one of the so called “stars”. I’ve also commented on the ridiculous prices which started with a bona fide Hollywood name which some people might want to pay a premium for but now remain with people who most people have never heard of. i don’t think it’s an unreasonable aspiration to get a stalls ticket for a show on a weekend for Under £100.

Are they gradually running the “star appeal” down on this show? I feel it’s fading away They abruptly ended that with the first cast change. I think the show is running on account of the word of mouth and awards recognition now, rather than appeal of any individuals. I'd actually think that Callum would have more recognition, at least in the crowd more likely to go see the show, owing to It's a Sin, when compared to the Marvel crowd who would know Fra.

I think it is an unreasonable aspiration, when the stalls is only 10 rows deep. You can't get a seat for most big shows in the first 10 rows for under £100 in the WE. That being said, Saturday matinees seems to be cheaper so you're in luck.

Possibly a scheduled alternate show…getting in there with a pre-emptive face saving tactic.

Are they gradually running the “star appeal” down on this show? I feel it’s fading away No I don't think so. You've got one of the stars of the biggest British TV shows of the last 10 years, and a one of the stars of the most successful American dramas of all time...both serious actresses, Callum can DEFINITELY sing it, not sure about her yet, but I think this is still star/luxury casting. Just because specific people haven't heard of them doesnt make it not star casting...

But the thing which does intrigue with Callum playing the emcee is that I don't think I have ever seen such a young actor playing the role and will be interesting to see if that does bring a new angle to a role normally played as a character who has seen it all and done pretty much of it as well which a more youthful emcee may not work so it's open for a fresher interpretation. It may actually work. The best Emcee I've seen on stage (and I've seen a few) was played by an actor who was only 25 back then. It somehow made this character more tragic - that Emcee was young, cheerful, energetic and hunky, and then you could see him slowly descend into sadness and fear. Behind the smile, the glitter and heavy make-up, there was a young, scared man who knew that all the fun (and probably also his life) would end very soon, even though it had only just begun. Looking forward to seeing Callum.

I had J4 for my first visit in June, it's a perfect view and a lot closer than I expected. Booked same seat for revisit after the cast change.

I haven't watched anything they've been in (except MB was in Hustlers with J-Lo) but several people i know have bought tickets already specifically because of her - that is star pull, however you want to define them.

I can recommend stalls row O (on the original stage side) - I sat in the centre of that row for £70 back in January having booked when it first went on sale. If you see it at that price again it wasn’t bad value at all. A good clear view over the table seating in front.

Was there ever a cast recording made for this? I recall a conversation on here regarding one but I can’t remember the details, or if there was a conclusive answer.

They are definitely widely known.

I heard that one was recorded just before the first cast change. Apparently they are going to sell it at the theatre on vinyl. Im glad that they are starting to do some merch. Bags and candles so far. Here's hoping for a Tee Shirt one day!
