Would people rather we said nothing/gave no hints and just wait for the company to officially announce (or Baz) or what? I genuinely can't keep up with what this board is actually for anymore. No, please feel free to give what info you can, when you can. That's what I like most about this board.

Most people enjoy the insider hints and gossip and totally understand that there are limits to what can be said. You carry on! The only time it gets a bit much is when people have “taunted” members but I don’t see that happen a lot these days. When it does it’s usually been less well known members who, in my opinion, are probably not genuine industry insiders anyway.

Have to say I don't like those "I know something you don't but I am not going to tell you" comments . Just makes them look smug. But I love a bit of gossip or a scoop.

Baz just confirmed it is Rebecca Frecknall directing, opening in November.
I was hoping it wouldn’t be Jamie Lloyd directing but, having only seen Summer and Smoke by her, isn’t her style kind of similar?

Pleased to see there's a lot of women on the creative team - correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first time a woman has directed a major production of Cabaret right? (West End or Broadway)

It’s directed by Rebecca Frecknall and designed by Tom Scutt

(West End or Broadway) Not the first time - Gillian Lynne directed and choreographed a West End revival in the 80s starring Wayne Sleep.

Relieved this isn't Jamie Lloyd after all! Definitely excited for this one, as I'd passed on my last two opportunities to see the stage show (one in Berlin...wasn't convinced by the quality of the production; and the last Bill Kenwright revival).

It's a shame Elaine Paige never had a proper West End "swan song" - Fraulein Schneider might be a nice auf wiedersehen.
Yes, I was hoping she would do Carlotta in Follies at "The Nash"!

Why are the news articles not revealing the venue? I thought it was interesting the co-producers are ATG and the Underbelly, the latter being well known for pop-up venues like the famous Spiegeltent - I wondered if that might have been an option? Has the right Weimar vibes.

Yes, I'm definitely getting more "Pop up" or "site specific" esque vibes...

The venue hasn't been "revealed" by the production, it seems...give it that air of mystery for the average layperson Secret Cinema vibes!

How big is Underbelly's largest speigel? Needs to be big to generate enough money to cover the cost of some quite hefty names.

Pretty big — they've been using it as a 'student village' at the University of Edinburgh this year.

The production in Berlin that someone mentioned above has been in a tent every summer for about a decade

Hmm wouldn't have said capacity would be over 500 somewhere like that, and atrocious sightlines for the majority too...

Priority booking registration is open: kitkat.clubLast time I saw Cabaret was in 2014 with Alan Cumming at Studio 54 on Broadway and it's going to be very hard to beat that!

How long will this run be? Open ended? I wonder if both actors are contracted for a year? They both may have film commitments…
Mr B - you have your finger on the pulse…do you happen to know the booking period?

I love the name of the website! Wow. Their productions are amazing - lucky you. I have NEVER seen the film or a stage production so....I'm down for this.

This isn’t going to another venue- it’s going to the Playhouse.
They are re-configuring the auditorium for it and the reduced capacity will be 500.

I'd be very surprised if they stayed for over four months tbh They have apparently committed to 6months (performances) and the 5 weeks of rehearsal.
