Saw it again last night and enjoyed it so much more than my first viewing. Aimee has the most wonderful stage presence and her voice was gorgeous, everything you'd want in a Sally Bowles.
I can't remember everything form when I first saw it (I saw the first replacement cast Fra and Amy) but it felt like a few small things had been altered or adjusted, and I'm so sure I don't remember there being as much loud music being played for the prologue pre-show in the auditorium, but that could just be me!
Very enjoyable, happy to have this as a long runner and a prestige show in London for a little longer!

Billie Piper has said she won't commit to 8 shows a week - hence why she didn't do it in London (they asked, and still ask every cast change)

She’d be a huge draw surely? Very wide appeal. Probably not cheap though. I’m hoping that whenever it does wind up that Eddie Redmayne will come back for a strictly limited stint to close it.

Roughly when do they announce holiday dates for new casts?

Billie Piper has said she won't commit to 8 shows a week - hence why she didn't do it in London (they asked, and still ask every cast change) Surely it would be better to have a big-name draw on a fixed schedule for at least part of each week than not? And far better than to have a big-name draw that doesn't show up consistently?

Isn't it also to do with the times rather than just the number of performances? She wanted to be home for children after school/bedtime etc.
She was also wanted for the last cabaret revival at the savoy I think.

Yeah, she said something about wanting to be home to tuck in her kids. Don't think it's about number of performances as all the recent Sallys in this one have had scheduled- off performances each week.

Does anyone know how long these 2 will be in the show for, I.e when will the next cast change be? Can’t see their scheduled dates in any of the press releases

Went back last night to see Aimee again and she's just terrific I think. She's reigned in a few things from the first time I saw her which only add to the impact of her rendition of Cabaret - my favourite Sally so far and I hope it's the start of her doing more musicals as she's great.
John has gotten significantly better than his first performance but it's still not great for me - it just feels very paint by numbers. I HATE the new ending of Two Ladies that they added in for Callum Scott Howells and have since kept - it's unnecessarily crude and not in keeping with the rest of the shows style - please cut this Rebecca Frecknell 😂
Will be hugely sad to see Viv Parry go at the end of this week as Fraulein Schneider - she's just wonderful in the role (easily my favourite interpretation of the role I have seen)
It's in super shape still - was nice to be in the stalls for the first time since the very first preview - and it was packed. Think this will continue to run for a long long time.

Is Maude not doing matinees? I have a friend at the show now who says she’s already out.

Very good to know, thank you. I was looking to book a Wednesday matinee but that changed my plans. Appreciate it!

Anyone paid for the premium seats near the stage and what their review is? Thanks!

Is Maude not doing matinees? I have a friend at the show now who says she’s already out. I know that Aimiee Lou Wood had a rotating day off. One week it would be Wednesday matinee and the next it would be Thursday evening I think. So not sure if Maude has the same set up or not.

From the website:
Maude Apatow is not scheduled to perform on 31 May (matinee), 8 June (evening), 14 June (matinee), 22-24 June (all performances), 28 June (matinee), 6 July (evening), 12 July (matinee), 20 July (evening), 26 July (matinee), 3 August (evening), 9 August (matinee), 17 August (evening), 23 August (matinee), 31 August (evening), 6 September (matinee), 14 September (evening) and 20 September (matinee). At these performances, the role will be played by our alternate Sally Bowles, Emily Benjamin.
So a similar schedule to the one which Aimee Lou Wood followed.

Okay saw this tonight. Probably one of the best pieces of theatre I have witnessed.
Mason Alexander Park as the Emcee, Maude Apatow as Sally Bowles, Beverly Klein as Fraulein Scheider, and Teddy Kempner as Herr Schultz were truly stunning. Complimented by an incredible ensemble.
Brilliant. Loved it. 5 stars.

Brilliant. Loved it. 5 stars. What was Maude Apatow's performance of Cabaret like? I found it thrilling, a great acting performance. Her vocals could be a bit more powerful, or loud perhaps (unsure if it’s designed to be so quiet with the mics?), but she gives a very good performance. She sounds good, not the strongest vocalist by any means. Just think she needs a bit more oomph at times. Also I think I expected her vocals to go more off the rails in that number, by the footage we’ve seen on the Olivier’s and such, and while she does go big, it doesn’t get unpleasant. Mason sounds incredible. I love how they handle the Emcee in this production.

I saw the new cast yesterday (from the cheap seats). Mason Alexander Park is excellent and really makes the MC their own. I binge watched much of the recent series of Quantum Leap on flights recently and I hadn't linked that they were in that show until I saw them on stage. Beverly Klein is very strong as Fraulein Scheider as well, possibly the strongest person I've seen playing this role in this production. I did like Maude Apatow as well and she fits in perfectly with the rest of the cast - although her microphone needs turning up at times as she couldn't be heard over the band. Still, this current cast is one of the most solid, and this is continuing to sell very well.
A note on the free drinks situation. Having not been given a drink recently, this time they had someone filling up shots of Schnapps in a booth just inside the entrance and everyone was welcome to take one. They no longer seem to be using tokens (or giving a choice of drink).
