The Great Gatsby with Florence Welsh composing music

Very impressed by this. Act one was very good. Act two blew me away. It’s a much darker Gatsby than the one currently on Broadway, and it’s instantly recognisable as a Chavkin production. Loved the portrayal of Myrtle in particular.

There’s definitely a place for both Gatsby’s. This one takes the edge artistically, however the current Broadway production is clearly doing well commercially. Maybe London will be this productions path rather than Broadway.
