What makes it silly? Seems honest and the author acknowledges their biases. It also celebrates aspects of the show. Seems balanced for a preview.

The 'review' is not balanced at all. Hamilton is a work of art . He rated frozen higher then Hamilton. How ? that got slammed everywhere

Reviews are one person's opinion, nothing more, nothing less. People are allowed to think that Hamilton isn't the best thing ever created. And this is a review of that particular production, not just the musical itself.

Go and read the dictionary definition of opinion. Regardless of what you think of it, everyone has the right to express their opinion. If you want to challenge opinions, fine, but just moaning about them is pointless.

I also thought it was a very reasonable and balanced review. As pointed out by a previous poster, this was a review of a specific production, and the reviewer said he felt that some of the points would be ironed out as the performers settled into their roles - he also pointed out that it was an agreed review of a preview, so things were still in flux.
He also praised the production and performers, and finished by saying that while it wasn't for him (and it won't be for everyone - I personally don't like the show at all) he could see there were plenty of people in the audience who did and would provide a great local fan base for the production.
Also, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the Hamilton and Frozen reviews were by different people? Hamilton by Richard Watts and Frozen by Judith Greenaway.

The whole point of theatre critique is to, well, be critical. Hamilton I've never gravitated towards, I would say that In The Heights is something far superior. (in my opinion)

The only thing I don’t really like about this review is how they point out the flaws in a preview performance. The state that they were told a review was appropriate despite it being a preview but I think it’s unnecessary to then point the out the mistakes and technical issues they experienced.
