So I finish.
And that famous black chair. So John Humphries is to step down from presenting duties. So who should replace John?
I am a bit of a fan of the programme and have it on instant record, on my Sky+ box, which is great, as I often skip the first part, who doesn’t?

Probably the obvious choice but I've always thought Fiona Bruce would be a good Mastermind host.
Or Moira Stuart, who I had thought was retired but clearly I don't listen to Classic FM enough!

Should be a pretty easy act to follow.

I wasn’t over keen on John Humphries.
The next Mastermind presenter is thought to be likely a lady. So I would have thought Emily Maitlis or even maybe Kirsty Young, who my mum adored on Desert Island Discs.

John Humphries was a guest on radio 4 this morning. God I haven't missed him. I will always remember him as a terrible interviewer along with piers Morgan and Andrew O'Neil.

I was also thinking that Fiona Bruce would be a good fit byt the way BBC is going these days we will probably get Paddy Mcdonald, Jason Carr or Gemma Collins.

Please no Fiona Bruce. I don’t mind her but she’s already got a very good gig on QT.
How about bringing Victoria Coren Mitchell across from the geeklands of Only Connect? She’s funny, clever and a bit sarcastic. Perfect.

Since 2019, Mastermind has been made both outwith the BBC and in Belfast, so if one of the usual suspects takes over from JH, they will have to commit to spending blocks of time away from their home, family and day job.

Pleased to hear it! So tired of the same old bbc presenters getting everything. Tell them they need to go to Belfast and see who’s still up for it! 🤔

I like Humphreys, think he has done well.
I like the sound of Kirsty Young. I first thought of Fiona Bruce and could only exclaim out loud, 'oh no'.
My quiz team plays against 2016 champion Alan Heath's team. Beat them for the first time this week. He is very good, I guess being a Mastermind champion he wants a more traditional set of questions as opposed to more popular culture but still a feather in the cap

It will probably be Tom Allen or Joe Lycett. They seem to be getting all the gigs these days.
Or someone from Eggheads

Somebody who can read questions quicker would be a plus. Some of the questions are four sentences long for a one word answer!

John Humphries since leaving Radio 4, has sort of became Laurence Fox’s grandfather with a couple of thing he has said.
Mastermind is a sort of programme you don’t want someone with a bubbly personality. Victoria Coran Mitchell has that in bundles.
One of my favourite programmes is The Chase, love Bradley and I love all 6x Chasers. Anyway so I watched the first 2 programmes of the Paul Sinha television show, which is unfortunately quite dreadful, never like quiz shows about television anyway, tells something of yourself if you do well! Anyway sometimes I also like a Question of Sport and have to say it looks awfully dated now and needs a refresh, with new presenter and 2 new captains. So I was thinking my favourite Chaser that being Shaun Wallace would make a brilliant host.

Another vote for Victoria Coren Mitchell though I'd like to see more of Rachel Riley ...
